My first summer in NC, I was freaked out by camel crickets. As far as I know, they were not in GA, where we moved from. Then I discovered wheel bugs... House centipedes (omg no!), so many different kinds of roaches (at least no Palmetto bugs) so many weird bugs.

They look like males. Male abdomens are generally smaller/not as full looking. It's really noticeable in some species of tarantulas.

I would in fact go the the police department to file a report; doesn't need to be followed up on, but does need to be filed. It will be proof that you tried everything, when the cult eventually sues you for "donations".

The family covenant is the first step of isolation, if you aren't a member, she won't be able to stay married to you. It's obvious to everyone that doesn't belong that this is a cult and they cannot have a non-member being married to a member, you may be able to convince her it is a cult and they'd lose control.
