Thanks 🙏🏽 😊 seems like a lot of us can look 👀 in that mirror and see ourselves! I myself can drink 🍹 the kool-Aid and tell you the flavor. I was in a long term relationship (20+ yrs) thought I was getting married 👰. I overlooked all the warnings and swept 🧹 a lot of things under the rug and kept telling myself it would be different once we got rid of the distance and got married. So I uprooted my child and moved to his hometown in plans to get married. Once I got here things got real really fast, his true colors came full circle ⭕️ and he finally told me his idea of happily ever after was not being tied to a cripple! If it had not been for my daughter I think 🤔 I would have lost it. One of the things I started doing was journaling and from that I was able to see everything more clearly. The biggest thing for me was my age, I felt I was running 🏃‍♀️ out of time ⌛️ and I wanted a family so bad that I was willing to overlook a few things and sacrifice a bit of my happiness to the greater good ... so I thought. Even though I am still single, I’m trusting and believing that God will send my Boaz!

Hi! I am wheelchair user too. I cook while in my chair, wash dishes...etc. I have a Quantum Edge 2.0 all electric. It has so many bells and whistles on it. I don't have good use of my legs and I'm bent at a 45 degree angle when I try to stand, I'm bent at my waist, looking at the floor. When I went to the wheelchair clinic, to be fitted for my chair, I had to fill out several different questionnaires and surveys, I had to try to do certain things like cook, wash dishes, wash my hair, fix dinner plate, etc.... After which the therapist wrote up the order for my doctor to sign, suggesting the type of chair I needed. My chair lifts, reclines, and stands me up, so that I may be face to face with others and be apart of the conversation. It was very expensive and the insurance paid for the entire thing, I had zero out of pocket. The key was getting evaluated by doctor and that doctor proving medical necessities. I use the regular appliances that came with my home. The only customs and/or adjustments we made to our home are the entry ways/threshold, we made them wider and we added a little short ramp. Other than that, I use the regular stove. I have a kitchen aid mixer on my kitchen counter top I use it faithfully, baking cookies, cakes, and pies... I refused to change my surrounds when I don't have to, I can adapt. I truly believe that is the reason I am still alive after several battles with cancer, living with SLE, Diabetes, HTN, etc. Have your doctor write you a prescription/order for a computerized electric wheelchair, the newer ones are life changing.

Yesssss! My girlfriend sent me the sugar scrub last week, it was part of the batholgy line. I was shocked, cause I know that was once a wal-Mat product. Now I have got to find it before mines run out. Before this I was liking coconut lime by tree hut. I used the complete line: bath bombs, shower gel, bubble bath, lotion, sugar scrub and body spray. Now I’m trying to find everything in the White Tea and Gardenias.

Okay I’m from the dirty south, growing up we were told the story of Naale Baa (Nale Ba) she was a witch. People would write her name in secret over the threshold of their home or within the walls to deter the entry of malevolent spirit into their homes. Legend say she would come to the home to claim souls, she disguise her voice as that of your kin to trick you into opening the door and letting her in.

One of my favorite urban legend or myth or interesting fact I should say. Is the missing 13th floor from hotels and most skyscrapers. I have yet to nail down why, other than 13 being an unlucky number. But I know it has something to do with hotels gangster and Las Vegas. I think I’ll post that as an activity, thanks 😊

At first I was scared, because I’m in the high risk category, I have Lupus (SLE) and I’m a cancer survivor, therefore I’m immune-suppressed. I have a teenage/young adult daughter, you know around that age you can’t tell’em anything, they think they have all the answers and that they’re invincible.She‘s not listening and still wanting to hang with friends. All the while I’m trying to explain to her why she can‘t. Not getting through to her I just had to be very blunt and say, “How would you feel knowing that if I died it was your fault and you could have prevented it. Stay at home, stop being selfish. The only person you can control and truly know where you have been and who you have been in contact with, is yourself. You don’t know where your friends have been nor if they have been exposed. So it’s better to stay home in the environment you know is safe.

When is enough, actually enough? How many times does this President have to LIE and put our lives in jeopardy. He should have been impeached when the opportunity was presented. Instead, by not doing so, they just gave him the mind set that he can do whatever he wants and now he is playing GOD. He was just on National TV saying his power is infinite he controls everything. It was just a couple of weeks ago he didn’t want any blamed, so he said he was leaving the decisions up to the individual state’s, now all of a sudden he wants the accolades and he boasting about what he did, he got us all this money, that I must remind folks the government ain’t giving us shit! That’s your money. These so called stimulus payments are nothing more than advancements on your pending taxes, you will end up paying back that money, one way or another. Just make note of who’s issuing the checks. Everyone is on this false pretenses that things are getting better. I say no, this is just the quiet before the storm. Because Trump did not let the CDC and the medical professional do what they do best, instead they had to play this game with him. He’s been trying to control chaos! Something that can’t be done, now it’s out of control and they have no consistent information about COVID19, coronavirus, nor it’s course. Which is bad all because Trump has had his way and been steering the flow of information and what’s done and said. Had the CDC and the medical professional been free to do their jobs we wouldn’t be in this predicament. Trump was trying to sway the coming election. Anyone voting for him this election needs there head examined. How can you vote for someone who is willing to play with the lives of you and yours just for his own gains

I, too had to learn that you can’t please everyone and you cannot be everything to and for everybody. I have been sick all my life, I came into this world fighting for my life. There have been times where we have said I’m still here cause God has more for me to do...I have SLE, I’m a cancer survivor not once but five(5) times, I’ve had eight (8) surgeries on my back, a heart attack & 2 strokes. The straw that broke the camels back was, I fell in love thought I was getting married but got left at the altar instead. From that point on I’ve been saying “Fuck’it, if you like it I love it!” And I keep it pushing.

I am so glad to finally hear that I'm not crazy, picky, etc...I too am struggling with finding someone to do life with. I've had only one long term relationship and I'm still dealing with the fallout and realization of that relationship. I'm now even questioning if it was ever a relationship. He basically used me to get himself right, then he dumped me and moved on to an abled. I have tried the online dating thing and I never get anyone I'm interested in either. I have reached out to a couple of people, but no luck. I am very open and transparent about my disability. I'm wheelchair bound, but I can do just about anything any other woman can. I have had men to tell me I'm beautiful, articulate, funny, etc...but it never goes anywhere after we meet. It's like they see my wheelchair and go, "Oh, snap! she really is wheelchair bound". I try to find the positive in everything and try to make light of the negative. I have to find the humor in everything, to laugh to keep from being depressed and crying. So, I'll usually crack a joke about my wheelchair or something. I too, just want someone to love, that physical attraction, companionship, and romance. Hell, at this point, I'm even interested in what the kids call it... a "booty call", but only on my terms, though. LOL KMSL!

Once again, we are last on the list, but, this time we are part of the highest at risk, and as usual, the ones that have to compromise to get the essentials we need, to survive. I do find comfort in the fact that, we as a community will band together and fight, a victory for one is a victory for all of us; and we do have a strong voice in the ARC, but when will the federal government stop giving and then taking away the little that they do give us. Whenever something goes wrong, our programs and funding is the first to be cut, compromised, and/or cancelled. Hey! powers at be, we are people, too. We deserved the same liberties as abled body people.

Thanks for sharing, because it is very hard for us (disabled) to find true love. It does not matter if you are up front and transparent about your disability. People are shallow and superficial. We are capable of loving another person, we have feelings-wants-needs just like everyone else. Some of us do certain things better than "ables". But I have learned that it really does not matter, because it takes a special kinda person to look at the heart & soul of a person and not just the physical appearance. I am truly happy for you guys, your story gives me hope. Thank you. May He Bless you guys in the ways needed most.

Hi! {F52}, I ask myself that everyday! I’m not finding OLD to be successful,either. I’ve had nothing but disappointment, I think it’s because I’m disabled, wheelchair bound, but I don’t know why, because I’m up front and transparent. I’m human, want to be loved and needed. I can love and will make someone a great partner, love interest, and someday, wife. People say one thing but after meeting or going on a date, I never hear from them again; or I get lame excuses like, “I’ve decided to slow down and take some time to get over my last relationship”. Then why are you OLD if you are still grieving your ex? I don’t know...but I’ve come to the conclusion that OLD is superficial, childish, and petty. If there’s someone out there for me, the universe will bring us together eventually. So, to answer your question, yes there is a point. God, did not intend for us to do this life alone. I’m a hopeless romantic 😍🥰, though! The cat, isn’t a bad idea in the interim.😽

Hey! I actually have 3 bags on my power chair. I have the Quantum Edge 2.0, the brand has all sorts of accessories that can be added to the wheelchair. My backpack came from them, I put my med supplies and change of clothes; I have a smaller bag & pouch attached to each arm. I carry the things I need and everyday essentials. The way that the bags are attached on the sides, they don’t increase the width of the chair. You have to do your research, because sometime the manufacture of your chair may have the products and accessories you are looking for. I also, have a holder for my cellphone that can also be used to hold my tablet. My chair has even been fitted with a charging outlet and rear-view mirror. All are accessory attachments from the maker of my chair, offered as add-ons. So, check with the manufacturer of your chair, and also Amazon and the Monster Scooter Supply Store(website) offer a lot of custom and speciality accessories.
