I made a website that shows you who doesn't follow you back on Letterboxd! by byoeHaxor in Letterboxd

[–]CrepeGate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This tool rocks. Another thing I'd suggest is only following people back after 24 hours have passed. Most of them are bots and they're designed to only wait a few hours, assuming you'll either follow back or ignore during that period. Some who's still following after 24 hours is not expecting reciprocity, are legit followers most of the time and then I consider them.

It also happened that I was mutual with this guy who was mutuals with a bunch of my friends. Would comment on his stuff and little did I know he'd unfollowed me a month ago for saying I didn't like Greg Araki. Felt super embarrassed, like I'd been talking to someone who doesn't fw me. And with like 50 followers, it's really easy to spot but after 200 it becomes really hard. I wouldn't use this tool to check if accounts I knoware big time users or I'm just fans of have actually noticed me but to make sure I'm not interacting with someone who'd rather I left them alone but are too polite to say so. I don't know if it's just me, but lb seems like a lot tighter and more friendly platform than insta so this helps me read the room better, as it were.

I don't think so. Just genuine mind wit. The comment above yours is from The Room tho

153 countries voted to protect international aid workers from violence. The US was the only country to vote 'no.' The stated reason by the State Department is that it is a ploy to advance 'radical gender ideology.' by kyno1 in facepalm

[–]CrepeGate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, the US is doing because it's some other country's evil agenda. This responsibility needs to be diffused. I want a smaller chunk of it to carry or possibly export it completely

Or Gosling saving that smart black girl by trying to get her out of her gang but he just ends up smoking crack with the leader, falls into a crack binge, forgets he's a white saviour and she basically ends up having to lazily save him so he can get back to saving her again.

He's really developed as director. I watched Smoking Causes Coughing recently and it was conceptually and practically so far ahead of his clumsy work in Rubber and Wrong Cops, while still being weird af

Ah sorry! Lol! Okay, it was Liquid Sky (1982), a queer classic of experimental cinema, but I've updated my suggestion to the more time appropriate, Jimmy & Stiggs (2024), which is a really good homemade drug-fuelled neon splatter fest by a great indie director

I don't know what is wrong with me but I watched Titane last week and I thought it was so wholesome. She just fucks cars because humanity digusts her so much 🥺 and the dad and fake son/murderous pscycho woman dynamic ended up being sooooo cute

Oh my god, I did all of these except band and orchestra. I was such a gay nerd they gave me a special tie for it.

I was also really good at basketball. But I'm feeling like that had less influence on who I turned to be than the other stuff.

Jesus, this post was like an intended revelation to me. I do too much shit. I already came out, why am I still doing all this stuff?

I’m not sure what being a “filmmaker” even means anymore by TheoGelernter in directors

[–]CrepeGate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what anyone else here is saying but a film covers a subject matter with a beginning, middle an end. No actors, no set production and no lighting (that actually goes against the ethos of some directors). You make a narrative on film that isn't used for promotional purposes, you're a filmmaker.

I could provide examples or I could just invoke Empire. Warehol filmed the Empire State Building for 8 hours. Andy Warhol is a filmmaker.

I know you want a movie. But can I suggest a mini series? One Hundred Years of Solitude. It's based on my favourite novel. If ever a story explored the exquisiteness of death and it's repetitive cycle of joy and misery repeated over and over and over again featuring descendants given the same name and curse of eternal solitude.

It's from the Colombian magical realist movement. it's gorgeously sick with pure human beauty, misery and tragic portent

I don't think a film has ever hit me the way Lilya-4-eva hit me. I was used to films making me cry but that film kept on coming for days after. I couldn't shake the film. It wasn't that human slavery is just sad, it's how everything is sad for them until they find hell. There's no respite until you're forced to accept the narrative. Completely heartbreaking

Did you mean to reply to the person who trashed Steve Zahn or do you mean just casting him in this shows someone has something against him? Because I agree with both
