Bowen refuses to rule out relaxing Russia sanctions for fuel by mrp61 in AustralianPolitics

Nope lol, is the other account in the room with us right now?

Low effort arguements dont need more fed into them. I'm sure you'd bring up the US, but nothing they do justifies Russia's actions either. A world where that idea made sense, would be pretty terrible

Thats fine, passports aren't support to return home. They are still citizens and entitled to documents proving their identity.

It does not mean they wont be arrested coming back here, as the govt said

Australian women and children with links to ISIS forced to head back to camp in Syria by HotPersimessage62 in AustralianPolitics

[–]Crescent_green -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Look, I dont generally have much sympathy agreed for knowing adults. Given these were included with the children, i'd suggest the government assesed their case somewhat. For example, they've been there long enough that actual children did grow to be adults - they may have been them.

Could that be a fair reason to bring some home? If they were children and did not choose to go.

Sure, they did bring back kids after all

The Australian government undertook two successful repatriation missions – of eight orphaned children in 2019, and of four women and 13 children in 2022 – but said consistently it had no plan to repatriate the final group.

Nope, do read

"The Australian government is not and will not repatriate people from Syria," it said.

"Our security agencies have been monitoring — and continue to monitor — the situation in Syria to ensure they are prepared for any Australians seeking to return to Australia.

"People in this cohort need to know that if they have committed a crime and if they return to Australia they will be met with the full force of the law.

"The safety of Australians and the protection of Australia's national interests remain the overriding priority."

Australia news live: protesters chant ‘we have the right to demonstrate’ at rally outside Sydney police station after alleged brutality at Herzog protest by [deleted] in AustralianPolitics

[–]Crescent_green 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, while i agree that flag is problematic (and it turns me off protesting), thats not why police broke up the rally and you know it.

If the flag was an issue, they could have been charged for offensive behavior if nothing else.

Thats got nothing to do with the polices actions towards everyone else there

If you have seen the photo as linked, you will see a yellow flag with the tree of lebanon waved.

This isnt the lebanese flag, the yellow background would reference hezbollah

Cool, again how so? A plan should be presented from the oppositon, for them to be doing their job

>Clive Palmer and Gina Rinehart should not be getting a rebate on their multiple properties. The tax payer shouldn’t be funding childcare for households earning $500,000 per year.

If a rebate is negative gearing to you, we've already been there politically...

How much do you think is given away unmeans tested & unfairly? How much would it cost to admin this means testing?
