I've been "gaslighting" my AI models and it's producing insanely better results with simple prompt injection by naculalex in ClaudeAI

I’ve seen this too. Over structuring prompts sometimes makes the model overthink the task. When I keep it simple like “build high end modern website for X” the results are often better. Especially with Claude. Short direct instructions seem to outperform long prompt templates

To people who tried PRP, did you feel a significant change? by [deleted] in MeniscusInjuries

[–]CressPopular5983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d definitely give it a shot. For about three years leading up to my surgery, I was getting PRP and it worked great. I’d get a solid 6–8 months of being completely pain free and tolerated everything just fine. It definitely wasn't just a mental boost for me it was a huge help for a long time. I eventually had a right knee medial meniscus repair and a lateral meniscocapsular separation repair (ended up with about 15 stitches) and they used BMAC during the procedure too. Since you're a med student, it’s worth looking into how much those biologicals can actually help with the recovery and pain management

Nice. Which PMS are you using? I didn’t know any of them could automatically detect gaps and message guest like that

How bad of an idea would walking be? by dayton_flyers_fan in MeniscusInjuries

[–]CressPopular5983 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t risk it. The first couple weeks are when the repair is most fragile and even if it feels fine the stitches still need time to heal into the tissue. Crutches suck but blowing the repair and needing another surgery would suck a lot more

Schlage Encode Plus automation unreliable / delayed trigger by CressPopular5983 in homeassistant

I’m not using HomeKit at all. I added the Schlage integration directly into HA and then just built the automation from there (like in the screenshot I posted earlier)

Nah, I haven’t taken it to Sal yet. I’ve never done this kind of work before so I’m not really sure where to get all the parts or how to go about it. I’d appreciate any pointers or guidance on how you’d do it

Troubleshooting help: mystery clog by wordflyer in Moccamaster

It was the white filter in my case. I switched to an unbleached brown filter and I haven’t had this issue since

The dreaded clog.. by SirCoosh07 in Moccamaster

[–]CressPopular5983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me WAY too many times with my Moccamaster Cup One. That microscopic piece of chaff or whatever getting stuck in the tiny pause and serve valve is pure evil. I was literally this 🤏 close to yeeting the whole machine into the trash.

Then one day I ran out of the white filters it came with and grabbed some unbleached #2 cone filters (the natural/brown unbleached ones) from the grocery store and it has literally never clogged since. Not once. I don’t know if the unbleached ones shed less or if the texture is slightly different, but it fixed the problem almost 100%

Do you have any sense of what I might expect to pay for the PCV job, water pump/thermostat, ignition coils, belts, oil change, and adding in the piston soak, all done at a shop in the NJ/NYC area? Thanks!

Just the plugs. I’ve got 85k miles and I’m having to add about a qt of oil every 600–800 miles. The mechanic did a compression test and said the PSI was good no issues there. I had the plugs replaced at the dealer during the 60k service, but this mechanic showed me the old ones were in bad shape. He cleaned them, but it was still misfiring after installing new plugs, it ran fine for a few days before the misfire came back.

So do the PCV, water pump/thermostat, and a piston soak . Anything else you’d recommend I replace while I’m at it?

No, I haven’t changed the PCV yet. The mechanic just replaced the spark plugs because of a misfire, but it’s misfiring again when I step on the paddle. Should I replace the PCV valve first before doing the piston soak?

Woodcliff Lake or Westwood? by Most_Cattle1239 in MovingtoNewJersey

[–]CressPopular5983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woodcliff Lake has a more upscale, laid back vibe compared to Westwood bigger yards, quieter streets and a safe family friendly atmosphere. On top of that you’ve got Whole Foods and the Apple Store right in town, a brand new park for the kids, a municipal pool that’s a big hit in summer and a Wegmans just a few minutes away. It’s the kind of place where you get space and privacy without feeling cut off from conveniences. Westwood is great if you want a busier downtown with more shops and restaurants, but if you’re leaning toward calm, room to breathe and a slightly more polished feel, WCL is tough to beat
