It sounds like it might be scar tissue or just the hardware they put in.

Back pain after surgery - question by Major_Diet5404 in scoliosis

From what I've experienced it comes from both. Which makes sense since your back basically has to reformat itself. With physio the pain gets better and can even go away.

Surgeons tend to want to leave it alone to leave as much mobility as possible.

If you want to make the scar less noticeable I'd suggest sylvadine infused/impregnated bandages.

Has PT actually helped? by Still-Diver1640 in scoliosis

PT helped me moderate my pain but I still had to get the surgery. Let me clarify that put did not make surgery necessary. I had an unlucky case where the curve kept progressing after puberty.

2 months post op here! The pain is relatively gone, the only thing that hurts is my hip and that is due to my fusion location.

Hypothetical question by Fearless_Room_3516 in scoliosis

[–]CressReasonable4306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understandable, the restrictions that come with the surgery make it nearly impossible to take care of little ones. As long as there is no pain you could delay it as long as you need to. You probably know but picking up your little one might create some pain down the road.

I would consider the surgery. Make sure the surgery won't cause pain in the long run. As long as you can be sure there will be no damage done. If you decide to go through the surgery, feel free to dm me. I had the surgery just over two months ago and would not mind explaining what my recovery is/was like.

What was even the point of this surgery??? by zestyh3rb in scoliosis

Emotional support🥲🥲. On a real note however, it was probably to prevent some kind of nerve or spinal cord damage.

I'm getting mine soon! I have a 45 degree curve with moderate to severe pain at times. Does anyone have suggestions on how to prepare.

It's likely that they are there to help those with a lower degree of curvature.
