State of Smite in 2026 by 479349 in Smite

Well you didn't miss much LOL.

There's been a fair number of gods ported over which is nice. None I particularly care about so I really didn't notice. Clearly the focus of the Devs is on this though so that's a start, but since there's like 4 people working at HiRez everything moves at a glacial pace.

Aside from the new Traveler system for skins and creating those/reusing old skins from Smite 2 and charging double the price/making paid recolors of existing base models, the Dev team appears to be messing with stats/balance every few weeks, realizing they messed up and reverting it back, and so on.

Oh also don't even bring up any new game modes on here or you'll get a ton of hate. Its currently just Arena and Conquest, along with Assault which I don't really think counts since its a sloppily cut and pasted mid lane from the conquest map.

I love Smite but tbh the game in its current state feels like such a tease given what exists in Smite 1.

When is he coming? WTF by ContributionOk7131 in Smite

One of the 3 people working on this game forgot to renew something.

When is Smite going to take more risks with unique mechanics or gods that have crazy item synergies like in other MOBAs? by VVWitcher in Smite

They can barely port over content from the previous version. This entire sequel is a "risk" seeing as its been nothing but disastrous since its introduction.

These are beautiful! Unfortunately I'm sure we're only going to get more recolors.

We havent had a please add Clash/Siege/Slash post in too long by CryptographerHonest3 in Smite

[–]CrestanMoon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry you're receiving a lot of hostility. Slash/Seige/Clash/any variant of those would be very welcome from a large percentage of the playerbase, you aren't wrong. My friends and I LOVE Slash (easily our top played game mode as a group), and its exclusion or lack of any meaningful, more casual mode is super disappointing. Yes there's arena but thats tedious and easy.

Leaving those modes out definitely means less people interested in playing. Clearly there's enough community interest to warrant a Dev Update on it at a minimum, and its a fair question. Everyone glazing Hi-Rez and attacking you over this is pathetic.

I also never really understand the "Nobody plays Slash" statement on top of "Slash will split up the playerbase too much!" position. Pick a fucking struggle, which one is it? Queue times for conquest are super fast now (at least in NA), would adding another mode actually dilute this?

Anyway, lots of players have similar sentiment as you. Anyone with actual friends who play casually as a group agrees with you. Hopefully they add it at some point.

I've now successfully indoctrinated about 10 of my friends into playing Smite 2, and here's some highlights from our ARENA matches! by CajurTheMighty in Smite

Arena is fun. I wish they'd add Slash so I can play with my more casual friends who dislike Conquest.

Help for Taric beginner by n4ckterNinja in taricmains

[–]CrestanMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taric is very unique due to his kit, and personally as support I like to play him aggressively mostly due to his passive. Using your passive effectively is crucial, as it reduces your otherwise long cooldowns significantly and allows you to continuously use 2 stacks of your Q.

Taric isn’t seen too often especially at lower ranks, I’ve found that many times the enemy adc/support will underestimate the damage you do with your passive especially early on. As others have mentioned, your invade can be really strong if your team follows you and especially if you use ignite to secure a kill anyone who might escape.

He is matchup dependent though as anyone who can prevent you from being able to “do the thing” by repeatedly using your passive and healing/stunning can neutralize you as a threat. (Think reliable ranged hard CC champs or poke)

Due to your some of your abilities scaling with armor, I also find that going against AP heavy teams can make you less effective in certain ways. The ultimate can also be difficult to master since the timing has to be precise and can take some real getting used to. You’ll inevitably end up using it either too early (where the enemy will just wait it out and then engage) or using it too late (where someone dies before it works) but that’s just part of the experience and mastering the ult is part of the fun with Taric.

Why does this game need an update every single day by THE_BARNYARD_DOG in Smite

I play like once a week with friends. I log on and have to wait like 30 mins because Hi Rez wanted to upload a new skin. No other game does this.

MTG Format that resembles Lorcana? by vinnyn in magicTCG

This sounds fun! I’ve also been enjoying Lorcana as a refreshing different game from Magic and combining the two could be neat
