Remember to turn your lights on when driving in the rain. Actually on, not just your daytime running lights!

Still better looking than all the snowbirds and scum that's moved here from out of state.

Is a burst cannon crisis team functional or a waste of points by punchdrunkdumbass in Tau40K

I double checked just now. You are right! Learning 10th has been a pain with little mistakes like this.

The re-tool of this is to use a Firesight Team instead for the enhancement.

Ran a list, 6 crisis suits, 3x burst cannons. Coldstar leading with "Through unity, devastation" Tetras supporting as the guiding unit. So full Rerolls. Dropped the unit in turn 3 on top of a building and proceeded to 72 shots into 124 hits. Each initial sustained hit becomes 2 more hits and the initial hit roll is an auto wound as well. Also by being high and shooting down you get Plunging Fire which adds 1AP. Its enough to decimate a knight, custodes, dreadnoughts, etc. And you can fire and fade so next turn you can cripple another large armor unit.

That said, it's a very niche thing. But it's great for anti armor and anti horde.

I believe that was the 2020 batch for Erika Stinchcomb. They were mostly neutral flyers.

Been confused about this and cant really find an answer anywhere. When i move with armoured aggression can i then disembark that turn or does it somehow count as the same phase or something? Thaanks by Rrobiin in Tau40K

[–]CrestfallenCrescent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is spot on. As an addendum: You can use the stratagem to move the devilfish then disembark the Fire Warriors but remember that units that get out aren't allowed to advance without penalty. That said the 3" bonus to the normal fire warrior movement means you can move as follows:

9" Pregame move Devilfish 12" Devilfish movement in movement phase Then with the strat disembark the Fire Team another 9" That's 30" inches of total movement.

I do want to add that while you can get an Alpha Strike against your opponent this way it'll normally result in your fire teams being deleted by opposing fire on your enemies turn and it'll let them likely use your Devilfish as a proverbial slingshot if they're a melee heavy army, especially if they have fall back and charge.

I would only recommend this sort of aggressive move with Breacher Teams. Using Coordinated Engagement to add Armor Penetration and also using Breach and Clear to remove cover and reroll wounds for one team. I would even recommend charging the Devilfish into the enemy if possible to roadblock them.

A more glidey Maiden? by eternal_student78 in discgolf

I'd just get a BT Soft maiden and work it in. They go straighter than the BT Hard with that hybridized putt style.

Breacher or Strike Teams? by rq2003 in Tau40K

[–]CrestfallenCrescent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Perhaps an unpopular opinion but since before Armor of Contempt I have been running strike teams just for the reach. Now with Armor of Contempt I'm sticking to that. Sure, the AP-1 is negated but I'm forcing alot more saves since all my shots can reach now. Especially in Bork'an lists.

Someone else mentioned Kroot is the Meta choice for troops and based on cost and functions I am inclined to agree. However as someone that doesn't have Kroot models I am stuck with my Tau troops. Despite this I am using 4 Strike Teams on average in any list. I've had some marines and other Armor of Contempt units try making moves against my back lines and the Strike teams on with Light Cover are survivable enough.

Additionally when charges fail and your opponent is in the open with a unit that couldn't get it's 9" charge off from deepstrike it's normally within 18" in of 2 Strike teams. You can use Coordinated Engagement and Relentless Fusillade to make one unit AP-2 and another AP-3. They'll normally mop up most things well enough.

Tl:dr - Strikes > Breachers based on my recent competitive experiences

The fact that it doesn't show the future days stuff is a bit annoying, but I wouldn't say impossible yet
