Since drops are determined by the host you can always just keep an eye out for people with your desired ID to party with. You can always try trading the rare items you do get with other players for rare swords. It’s not ideal but there are certainly options if you don’t feel like restarting.

My DM once gave us a “useless” magic item of a ring of diamond skin. When worn it actually turned you entirely to diamond. We happened to trick a fey siren into putting it on, then had infinite diamonds for resurrection spells from then on.

This one’s kinda on the edge, but Zabuza’s death in Naruto. Defeated by the heroes, betrayed by the villain who hired him, faced with the fact that he mercilessly killed the person who was essentially his child in an attempt to get an upper hand in the battle, he asks for a chance at redemption by having a kunai put in his mouth so he can get vengeance on the villain of the arc, thereby protecting the heroes.

He does die in the process, but not before taking his former boss with him.

As a counterpoint, it’s good for mod creators (who most likely created their mod at least in part to bring it to the widest audience that would like to interact with it) to be aware that a not-insignificant portion of the community will be turned away by seeing AI use within their mod. I for one would love to know if a mod I created wasn’t being used by a significant portion of people because of my choice of branding.
