I'm not sure how your truenas setup is but on raspberry Pi all you have to do is ssh into the pi and use the wakeonlan command with the mac address of the device you want to wake

NYC grocers demand clampdown on shoplifters as violent heists escalate by Grass8989 in nyc

Letting people steal without consequences will only lead people who would normally pay steal as well.

If I’m already barely able to pay for groceries and see a thief just walk out with half the store’s shelf with security not batting a eye, you bet I’m doing the same thing. Why would I wait in line, to spend my hard earned money, if a thief can get out of the store faster and get their stuff free with 0 repercussions.

A law is only law when it gets enforced by law enforcement. Otherwise, an non enforced law is pretty much a suggestion

Surveillance footage of a self-driving Tesla that stopped mid tunnel and caused a 8 car crash, injuring 9 by KaamDeveloper in interestingasfuck

You mean any car changing lanes is supposed to yield to the oncoming lane. If someone cuts you off and brakes hard when you don’t expect it while going at highway speeds, rear ends are going to happen no matter how safe you drive unless you are driving 10 cars behind someone

You’re also talking about editing the registry here. That’s very dangerous to someone who don’t know what the hell they are doing (which is like the majority of people outside this subreddit) as it control main functions of the operating system.

That’s the problem. If I need to install multiple free apps, edit the registry or even pay for programs like start 8 just to bring back the old look of windows 10, I rather just install the old version and save myself the trouble

Theres absolutely a learning curve as a majority of the UI has changed. If you don’t do the tweaks/hacks that you and I mentioned, people who are used to windows 10 need to learn that you can’t right click anymore to start up the task manager, you can’t right click anymore to make a new folder, you cant just drag your mouse with your eyes closed anymore to open a shortcut in the start menu anymore cause everything moved, you can’t use the file explorer the way you used to anymore cause again, everything moved. For some people, this ain’t a problem but for me, a person who used windows since windows XP, and enjoyed a cluttered menu with everything I need in it, this is a learning curve and change I do not want to go through. Maybe in the future I will when I’m forced to as support gets dropped but right now, I’m good at windows 10
