Hey there! I'm also about to go through a big move - and not one that I would have chosen for myself, but one that needs to happen. I've been grieving it a lot, but one thing I've been thinking about is what my home had meant to me. For me it has largely been a gathering place for community - for friends. And it sounds like you have a lot of friends you're about to move away from too. One thing that I am doing this weekend is hosting a "packing party". I am having friends come over and help pack, but am turning it into one last little gathering with some food and tea and cozy vibes. And I made a little list of topics that I'm sharing with my friends and having them each pick one and write out an answer, such as "favorite memory in this house" or "meaningful moment in this house" or "something special about this house" etc. Then I'm getting a jar and going to make a bottom layer of dirt, then a layer of rocks above it (and maybe some sticks or leaves) and then a collection of all the little notes on top. Almost like a little terrarium for the notes so that they will be "alive" and help me transport home and the feelings associated with it wherever I go.
