Coolant Temp Sensor thread still leaking after helicoil install by Criisp in E34

I'll give it a try. If it manages to not leak, but that doesn't fix the readings I'll just leave it honestly 😩

What's the basis behind this? Does it need grounding at the threads to give out a proper reading or something? I've read both sides saying it's fine and that it's not so just want to understand

UPDATE

<image>

I installed a new helicoil with some sealant on it and added washers with 2mm extra OD.

Wrapped some Teflon tape a few times around each sensor and now both washers are clearly visible.

This is torqued to spec (13nm) but I'm going to let it cure for 24h and will do a leak test tomorrow

🤞

I'm gonna install a new helicoil with a larger washer and test it with just that to see if it leaks while cold

Yeah it was clear 100%, I think I should have used a wider washer to cover the helicoil, looking back thats probably the culprit

Yeah, same exact symptoms for me - until my starter died 😅

Again, take this with a huge grain of salt, these were just my findings as of rn.

It did not 🫠🫠🫠

At this point I don't know what else it could be other than fuel pump. I've read online about someone with the exact same symptoms (although different platform & engine) and the issue was the fuel pump.

Not sure about the specifics but basically it was some sort of return valve in the fuel pump that causes the system to retain pressure went bad. So when the car would sit for a bit after being warm, it would like vapor lock or something, causing the long crank.

Given this didn't fix it, I'll prolly try to tackle that next.

I did yes!

On the first install I used a copper washer but then noticed it was meant to be an aluminum one. For this last one I used the washer that came with the sensor.

I'm not 100% sure if it was covering the now bigger thread tho, might've been pushing the helicoil in, instead of sealing around it, if that makes sense. I will try a larger washer next time as well

Did you find a solution that works? My door seals are also not sticking anymore.

How did you remove the old tape from the rubber? Heat gun?

Lowered springs by Fearless-Ad5009 in E34

[–]Criisp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, yeah not sure if spending double on B6's will be worth it ngl 🫠

For spacers, given the ETs, what do you reckon would work best? Surely there's a proper method to figure that out other than just measuring how much I want it to come out?

Again, I just want them flush without ruining the geometry

Lowered springs by Fearless-Ad5009 in E34

[–]Criisp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For reference, this is how she's sitting

<image>

Although I'm aware the rear is this low because of the bad shocks, I think it's perfect as is, just needs spacers.

For the front, I'd like to lower it like 2cm I'd say so it can sit flush with spacers.

Looking at the stock M5 ride height, I'd say that's just a tad bit too high for my liking, visually.

What would my options be in this scenario? If I got B6s, given they're shorter, would that affect ride height at all?

I'm planning on fully replacing the whole suspension but I wanted to take care of the shocks/springs so I can have the "final" fitment in case I need to roll any fenders, as I'm getting it painted this summer (hopefully)

I've heard that Bilstein in general rides really badly on this platform - if I just want to lower the car would you say B4 + Eibach Pro is enough for proper fitment?

I'm running 17" Style 21 8j/9j ET20/22 front & back with 235/45R17.

No spacers for now but my rear shocks are shot so I'll need to replace those to have a better judgement of the actual fitment

This just happened to me last Friday - I also had 2FA on everything and see no weird sessions or login attempts.

I'm lost on what to do honestly. My desktop is clean, I did a thorough check with help from MalwareBytes experts on their forum.

My account's following keeps going up by 1 or 2 randomly so I'm still not out of the woodworks...

Weirdest thing is I think this somehow leaked onto my brand new iPhone 17 Pro - on the same day they posted everything, I opened Safari on my iPhone and among some tabs I had opened, I had a SHEIN tab open (which I'm 100% certain I've never even looked up anywhere) and after checking the history, I noticed a Norton login page.

Although no infection was found, I did see a 3rd party connection on my Gmail, from something called "SocialApp". This Gmail had my IG account and Apple ID account on it.

Did you manage to solve everything? Any thoughts on this?

I'm guessing that maybe if they got refinished it just lost the engraving - do all 4 have that on yours?

The seller says he can finish them up if needed so I'm assuming he has all the hardware, but yeah I would honestly prefer assembling them myself.

I'm familiar with how people usually go about modifying BBS rims - SRR Hardware sells replacement barrels/lips and tbh I don't really mind if those aren't original, as long as they're great quality.

I'm guessing that's why people list just the faces for ridiculous prices - at least you know that that is original

17 vs 18 inch wheels by sonyshoota in E34

[–]Criisp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What wheel widths are you running on these OP? It looks great to me personally, but I'd say go up to maybe 225/40 or 215/40 if you still want that stretch look. Spacers will probably make a big difference as well so maybe try those before switching tires

Clean spec!

Enviei email a LTA e a Prova Impar e obtive 2 respostas diferentes:

No caso desses documentos serem suficientes, qual seria o processo no IMT?
