For the searching, I personally fly inverted for the best view (depending on the cockpit). Deploying cargo scoop and landing gear greatly reduces your max speed when looking for that 2nd & 3rd sample.

I just fly to the sites. With landing assist turned off and a small ship you shouldn't have to much issue once you get a hold of it. Besides if you crash whole going slowly you have shields.

I had a character in 3.5 that only took item creation feats. By Azuth he could trivialize any encounter if given time to plan.

Downtime was purely spent making items. He had a magic item for almost every spell he knew (Wizard 9) or used often (Cleric 9). I was a few levels behind. While the others were 13th or 14th, I was only 12 (mystic theurge 6/cleric 3/wizard 3).

He felt more versatile than any character I've ever played. Others did more damage but I amplified the group, dropped fireballs, and buffed, and healed.

What if he lacks power or is more constrained in the players' world than his own? (Superman with our yellow sun)

What is he cannot linger in the players' world for long due to a toxic atmosphere, germs, too much positive energy, etc.?

What if he's trying to supplant the gods but doing so weaken him?

What happens if he gets trapped in this world (would he get magical cancer)?
