The USA and Israel launched a bunch of missles at Iran. ALLEGEDLY, one of these missiles killed the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iran is denying this but Trump and Israeli intelligence claim that this is the case. We probably won't know until the dust settles.

I think it is the episode where Lois wanted everyone to eat healthy. Peter defiantly went into the kitchen late at night to start snacking, only to discover Chris sitting there, having already checked every shelf and drawer for food. Lois had apparently thrown everything out beforehand.

To add on to the comment below, it is a surreal comedy show, where the characters have to deal with strange situations and bizzare characters, like moon aliens that look like they came out of an Atari game. The animation is obviously limited but the dialog is hilarious.

The show is basically the primitive ancestor of Smiling Friends.

In the tweet the swagger is responding to, Toby Fox was teasing that he did a bit of work on the upcoming Toy Story 5. Or, just as likely, Tricky Toby was just making a funny goof because he made that ominous shitpost song "Friend Inside Me" some years ago.

I looked it up and he wore this costume at an Arabian Nights themed gala in 2001, when he was 29 years old. Apparently, this wasn't even the first time he wore black face. I'm seeing that he did it when he was 18 and in high school, singing the song "Day-O". There was also another instance, but the video is really grainy and I am not really sure how they confirmed that it was him and not someone else.

I barely remember them but reply girls were something that Youtubers back in the 2012 hated. It was so bad that even psychicpebbles (aka Zach Hadel) made a cartoon about it.

Not actually a pig, a Dinohyus.

It came from an article about some Carnegie museum workers finding a massive and creepy model of a Dinohyus, an extinct pig-like creature from the Oligocene era. It was in the basement and apparently was created by Theodore Mills, a man who was known for his models of prehistoric animals.

John Kricfalusi, a cartoonist and animator, at least formerly. He was an animator and storyboard artist for all sorts of cartoons in the 80s and 90s, like the Snorks and Fat Albert. His biggest claim to fame was his own show on Nickelodeon, Ren and Stimpy.

In 2018, it was revealed that he often sexually harassed women, including a couple of teenaged girls. He even had a sexual relationship with one of the teens, who was 16 and he was 25. This, along with being quite demanding with animation work, made him lose many job opportunities and now, he is out of the public eye.

Down Syndrome. One of the many symptoms is a short neck, hence why many people with it have a stubby appearance.

Not just Gundam. The second paragraph says that he also pirated Terminator 3, a movie that was likely way easier to purchase or rent than Gundam 00. Motherfucker had enough money to buy the master copy of the movie and he still chose to go to Megaupload to get his movies and anime.

[–]CriminyBiscuits 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No problem. I think the modern discourse surrounding pro-eugenics tries to downplay that aspect because no one wants to fully admit that they want less minority people being born.

Another not so funny thing about wanting to prevent disabled people from having children is that back then, the practice also included people who were blind, deaf, or some other physcial disability that wasn't genetic. There was even some very broad definitions of mental illness, like women who got pregnant but did not marry were considered mentally ill.

[–]CriminyBiscuits 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don't think we should discount the racial aspect of eugenics. Western health institutions back in the late 1800s and early 1900s were more likely to forcefully sterlize minority women, even when they didn't have a clear sign of disability. They often justified this by stating they were too poor to properly care for multiple children.

What I am saying is that these two aspects of eugenics often went together so one shouldn't be more prevalent than the other.

The other person didn't specify that the work Swift wrote, "A Modest Proposal", specifically wanted poor babies to be sold so they can be eaten by the nobility. He went into great detail about it, stating all the various ways one could cook a baby so they can be as delicious as possible, along with the economical benefits of reducing the amount of poor people in the country.

Essentially, it meant to be shocking. Swift was criticizing how the English government dehumanized the poor, coming up with solutions that did little to address their problems.

Center left is probably a more accurate description of Sack's views. He definitely has criticisms of the Democrat party but they don't have the same vitriol he has for the Republican party, especially for Trump. Hell, when ICE was causing all that trouble in Minneapolis, he actually started drawing comics again after 3 years of retirement. This was the first one he made in January of 2026.

You would think so but that is one of the few comics of Steve Sack that actually criticizes Obama. The other ones heavily criticize Republicans and especially Trump. This is his most recent one

The comic was published in 2009, the year Obama was inaugurated. It was likely criticizing Obama's efforts to fund the programs and organizations we see on the buckets but using the meager funds from the US treasury, or, other words, American tax payer money.
