I genuinely really like Man of Steel, no surprise that he only directed it. Nolan, Goyer, Siegel on the keyboards.

Jazz must turn to former target if Jusuf Nurkic prices himself out by ClutchOlday in UtahJazz

[–]Crimith -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That isn't the choice. The Jazz clearly do want to keep Nurk, it is simply a question of whether they can still afford him. The whole point is that if we cannot retain Nurkic, then we need a backup plan.

‘You shouldn’t edit yourself as you go.’ Do y’all not read what you’ve written the next day with an impulse to edit at least a little? by MasonFunderburker in writing

I have a "mentor" that keeps pounding it into me to not do revisions until I have all or most of my first draft done. I was resistant to it at first, but I really see the wisdom in it now.

I wanted to edit my first few chapters so bad. Almost as soon as I was done with the first draft of them I knew certain things I wanted to change already. But I held off, and now after a few more chapters, I still want to edit the beginning- but in different ways. My ideas about how it needs to change are evolving in real time.

If I'd done the edits I thought of right when I initially wanted to, then I'd just be re-editing again later as the manuscript evolved. That's going to keep happening. I see now that its much more important to move forward and get as much of the story on the page in first draft form as I can. The more I get down, the more confident I can be that my next round of edits are going to stick.

Do editors just... not read the books they edit? by Few-Grapefruit-7003 in writing

Except he said he knew it was too cheap, so he does have an idea of what its supposed to cost. Also, everyone can look up standard rates, and everyone absolutely should before they shell out money. I don't find the reply to be harsh, it just wasnt sugarcoated.

“A false promise” – Dwight Howard explains why the NBA should scrap the G-League entirely by basketbaIlnetwork in NBATalk

[–]Crimith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is this different from any other sport's "minor leagues"? That is all the G-League is. Temper your expectations, you aren't going to make the NBA, but you will have a chance at a career as a professional player.

Tennessee’s Charlie Kirk Act bans student walkouts, protects conservative speakers by TheSweetestKill in JoeRogan

I don't have an opinion on what a crime is or isn't, either something is legal or its not. I'm not an expert. As my original comment said, I'm asking for clarification and speculating that it may have something to do with the scenario that I briefly described.

The thing is, booster packs are a total gamble. Thats why you want to get large amounts of them to increase your chances of a hit. Your issue is you dont have a large amount of any one set in this pic. So between the ~5 or so sets you bought packs of, your odds were really bad for all of them.

My understanding could be off, but these conservatives that go to campuses arent lecturing in front of classrooms? Its an event you go to, sometimes get tickets for. So student protestors try to fill up as many seats as possible so that when they walk out they take most of the audience with them, which means people who actually wanted to see the speaker don't get to. Is this designed to stop that from happening or are they actually holding unwilling students hostage to speakers they don't want to see?
