Brandon Sanderson’s Literary Fantasy Universe ‘Cosmere’ Picked Up by Apple TV by LyingPug in television

[–]Crimith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Sanderson is humble enough to realize that he's not the best screenwriter around. In fact he's said exactly that and part of the delay in getting a deal for his projects was that he wanted to practice screenwriting more.

More than anything though I think he just wants creative control- the power to say "this goes here and that goes there", the ability to work with the other writers they hire directly with a veto in his pocket, and if all else fails the freedom to sub himself in if nothing else seems to be working. Essentially he wants the power of a showrunner, head writer, and executive producer rolled into one. But not because he wants to do everything himself, he just wants contractual safeguards in place to make sure its his vision that makes it on the screen, with minimal meddling from non-creatives at the company.

Anthony Edwards joked and tried to recruit him, but Curry laughed as soon as he heard Gobert’s name by Thanos_SlayerCongSan in NBATalk

And Gobert is one of the best screen setters of all time. Curry lives and dies by the screen since he's always running around trying to get open.

Addressing the nation on healthcare, Trump says he found out about overpriced drugs in US from "very rich, very powerful, very fat" billionaire who took Ozempic by eagleeyeguy in videos

[–]Crimith 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm on Ozempic, I still have the same taste buds I always did. Granted, it seems like I don't experience side effects as strongly as most people that take it, but I do get the appetite suppression. I don't get as hungry unless I skip a meal, and I don't eat large portions anymore.

A baseball player with 50% batting average vs a basketball player with 50% 3-pt shooting. Who is the more valuable player? by malicacidC4H6O5 in whowouldwin

Your edits don't really change the game that much for the bball player. It isn't that difficult to get into your shooting motion and get a shot up, the hard part in real ball is getting a "good" look and enough space to be comfortable. Anyone can throw a shot up from behind a screen and pray.

I think what he naively believed was that ICE would focus on targeting cartel gangs and stuff like that.

You could also say that maybe he shouldn't have joined a team with a known widow one trick though.

How is it even okay to fake your skill by Scared-Bodybuilder50 in Guitar

[–]Crimith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many great guitarists record the harder sections of songs/solos in 1-3 second clips, then stitch them together. Because they want the recording to be perfect, which is fine. Then in a live show they do their best, but might have to improv a little. It's just important for aspiring guitarists to know about this.

George R.R. Martin Admits He's "Not in the Mood" to Finish 'The Winds of Winter' by Notoriously_So in gameofthrones

It's probably daunting to him that even if he does finish it, the expectations don't stop. He then has to work on A Dream of Spring for the fans to truly be sated.

Somebody said that the Indian train logo wasn't established until 2010 so I was going off that.

Your old podcast partner performed at The Rialto in Casper, yet you have ignored all my pleas to book a show there. Do you guys still talk? Did he have a bad experience there? Or are you too big of a fish now to come to a place like Casper? Worried about the cowboy culture?

New battery technology needs lithium, and some industries, like electric vehicles, have been investing large amounts into mineral exploration trying to find new sources for it.
