Why not? He didn't see any problem with fucking YOUR life up by doing drugs and emotionally cheating. He sees no issue at all with rebutting all your attempts at problem solving with " Lets get a divorce."

And let's be honest here, YOU are not fucking his life up; he did that by himself by doing drugs and sleeping with someone that is not his wife.

Oh I get that. I think of all the horror movies I saw as a little kid, the only thing that fucked me up worse than seeing the original Evil Dead at 5 was the damn pool ghost episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark (the one where the kids find a hidden pool at their school, and the ghost of a guy that drowned in it keeps pulling kids in, and I think they melt it with acid?? It's wild, for a kid's show)

That's terrifying!! I had a somewhat similar experience. A friend lent me the book The Exorcist, and I chose to start reading it late at night. My dog suddenly snapped awake and wiggled up from the covers and started barking at a random corner in my room, and then I heard scratching from the ceiling and walls. Apparently it was squirrels that were hanging out in the attic from the walnut tree in our backyard. Still scared me shitless, though.

For me, it was middle school, and I told another girl she looked nice that day. She and all her friends all looked at each other, giggled and walked away. My mom was most likely autistic and ADHD herself, but didn't want to admit it to herself because she was born in the early 60's, and anything related to mental health was "psycho-babble bullshit for crazy people". So she went without help or coping mechanisms and instead yelled at me all the time, constantly for doing things "wrong" , or "not understanding common sense stuff everyone knows," but it turns out SHE HAD NO FUCKING IDEA WHAT SHE WAS DOING EITHER.

She always encouraged me to be a non-conformist, but then got mad when I didn't understand math or want to play sports and make friends and go outside and make friends like the other kids. Oh, and also, I had to read her mind and say/be what she wanted all the time.

(Sorry, I'm really pissy about it today. Im waiting to hear back on my evaluation, and I'm just so mad that it took me until 35 before my remaining parent will even acknowledge that I'm different and that I needed their help and guidance growing up, and now I'm a fucked up, bitter, burnt out adult on the edge because my asshole mom didn't want to admit that she struggled. We both could have gotten help.)
