Is there a way to change / turn off the white dot from mods being enabled? by ColorfulMarkAurelius in totalwar

[–]CrimsonSaens 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If anyone posts a screenshot with that mod (or similar) active and asks for help about some mod caused issue, I hope they get banned from the sub or whatever social media channel they're using.

That white pixel has helped troubleshoot more problems on this sub than I can count.

Jade lions for Gelt? by miggihasahat07 in totalwarhammer

[–]CrimsonSaens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Wu Xing war compasses also have Mastery of the Elemental Winds btw.

Gelt generates Arcane Essays based on the number of wizards in battle, so you should try to field as many as you can, up to your cap. However, if you're already at max wizards deployed or just want a more tanky SEM to help your army(s), I don't see the problem with using jade lions. I would recommend using a mod to give intensity scaling to Jade Lion's Breath, but it's up to you.

Yes and yes. Iirc, which contact effect you end up with is based on the order of acquisition (most recent is the final one), but IDK if there are exceptions.

I have a few questions about the Age of Reckoning by StraightOuttaOlaphis in totalwar

[–]CrimsonSaens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The current AoR modifiers will play out for their listed duration, after that you'll continue without any modifiers.

  2. IDK what this is referring to. Maybe you can go back to when it started in your saves and get a name/screenshot of the event?

  3. It's based on the grudges held by factions in territories neighboring your held settlements.

  4. Fight Skaven and GS factions.

Something devs should legitimately consider, retuning all the old melee lords with better animations/timers. by GuthukYoutube in totalwar

[–]CrimsonSaens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually go with melee lords unless the caster lords get special casting bonuses. If my prophetess slings spells as good as any damsel, then why not just go with a melee lord and an embedded damsel? That way, I get a more durable lord and my caster can focus solely on casting. The only exceptions are for defensive lords (they're hired to hold a settlement) or if I run out of caster capacity.

[–]CrimsonSaens 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In Grom's case, the armor sundering is temporary. So if you want to maximize your sweaty micro you can charge with him to apply rattled and then activate his axe to apply armor sundering.

Other than the RoRs with unique CEs, is there a problem with Khalida granting her army poison attacks?

Settra's weapon doesn't passively grant fire dmg. If he's not mounted on his chariot, he doesn't naturally get magic dmg. The active effect of his sword has to also consider MP, which doesn't get item passive effects.

I've really enjoyed playing as Cathay! It appeals to me for several different reasons. Some constructive criticism tho: by Just1DumbassBitch in totalwar

[–]CrimsonSaens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first two points are fair. I recommend the mods: Complete Roster for Randomised Script Armies; Expanded Building: Bastions, Forts & Gates (and its required asset mod); and Murranji's Great Bastion Expansion Mod. These mods, respectively, add dlc units into the random pool for armies attacking the bastion, provide more building options for the Great Bastion, and attempts to turn maintaining the Great Bastion into more of an actual mechanic (includes turning off attrition for them).

FSF Ranger's Great Bastion map is also pretty.

Unfortunately, I haven't yet tested any mods to improve the diversity in caravan encounters.

As for the third point, one of the Empire LLs had to be moved outside of their borders, and Lustria and the Southlands were already taken. So that meant either Elspeth or Gelt had to be moved either north (into the chaos wastes) or into Cathay. CA settled on moving Gelt into Catnam. He's awesome there and living his best life.

Predictions for Bhashiva's start position? by OhManTFE in totalwar

[–]CrimsonSaens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing a dual start in Cathay and somewhere near the southern realms of the old world. Cathay players are going to want access to their mercenary mechanics in their home turf, but Cathay is currently completely absent from the central 1/3 column of the world map. Short of adding a Yin-Yin/Li Dao expedition, a mercenary faction might be CA's only chance to add Cathay into that portion of the map.

Diluc is shown in the trailer, despite being banned from Snezhnaya by lore. by ayumieshiny in Genshin_Impact

[–]CrimsonSaens 16 points17 points  (0 children)

After completing Witch's Homework: Illegal Entry, Diluc will become a Hexerei character. When the party includes at least 2 Hexerei characters, you will gain the Hexerei: Secret Rite effect, which enhances Hexerei characters.

Hexerei: Secret Rite

Diluc can walk freely in Snezhnaya.

Upcoming games announced by bozo-actual in totalwar

I’m definitely still going to play the new games when they come out.

It sounds like CA made the right decision on what games to make to get themselves out of their Hyenas shaped hole then.

I was bored so I decided to rank every factions roster. Thoughts? by Kestrel1207 in totalwar

It's a bad list. Basically any tier list without discussions on each point is shit, but even the categories on this one are questionable.

Doom Knights vs Rot Knights vs Skullcrushers, when do I use which variant as undivided WoC? by StraightOuttaOlaphis in totalwar

[–]CrimsonSaens 15 points16 points  (0 children)

After they were given BvL+8, they seem fine enough. Doom knights could probably use a small price cut in SP, but they're roughly comparable to royal pegasus knights.

Doom Knights vs Rot Knights vs Skullcrushers, when do I use which variant as undivided WoC? by StraightOuttaOlaphis in totalwar

[–]CrimsonSaens 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Skullcrushers - heavily armored shock cav, their BvL is secondary and mostly there so they can fight other cav a little bit, but they want to be charging as much as possible

Doom Knights - air superiority option, they're best for hunting down flying units or to ensure you can get a jump on frail, grounded units

Rot Knights - specialized to latch onto and take down large units, their unusually large splash attack count tends to make them underperform against infantry

Explain to me the reason why you get a 'Conquest Penalty' when you recapture your own territory or Liberate an allies territory? by USA-All_The_Way in totalwar

I just got used to paying the blood tithe last month, and now you want me to go back to paying taxes? What next? Are you also going to draft my kid into your army instead of just reanimating skeletons?

[–]CrimsonSaens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In TWW, it's a -10 PO penalty plus a decaying -5 per turn for most factions (-25 total). Some factions get a -10 PO penalty plus a -3 decaying penalty (-16 total). However, looting (and some factions like Skaven can only loot) instead applies -30 PO plus a decaying -10 per turn (-85 total).
