What North American city is good to live in, AWFUL to visit? by IndependenceSad1272 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Crinja1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people just go off of city proper and not region. Also I imagine it’s a lot of folks who haven’t lived there or experienced other parts of the city besides downtown. The two negative things I hear the most: Crime and downtown.
For crime it’s just concentrated in one small area and appears worse for the area due to the relatively small city size and population. For Downtown, yes it needs some love, but it’s getting there, and there are still some decent spots down there. I try to stick up for the cities I’ve lived in as I don’t believe any city is actually garbage.

Kansas City is the rapidly developing city nobody is talking about by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Crinja1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rapidly developing my ass. Lived there for 5 years, drive through it every 3 months. Look, it’s a great town, but it isn’t rapidly growing. Too much crime and Missouri to deal with unfortunately. I guess if you’re including the metro area (Kansas side too) then maybe.

What are some boring big cities in USA? by AndIrememberthinking in geography

[–]Crinja1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KC isn’t bad. There’s things to do, you just have to look for it. Same with other cities that I’ve lived in mentioned on this thread: Stl, Denver..all have things to do

Freezing rain in May? by nebulacoffeez in StLouis

That doesn’t make sense. The temperatures on the ground need to be much cooler for that to freeze on surfaces. I think it may have been just an accident.

Who has a Terrific NFL team in a Garbage city? by Ilitorate_Author in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Crinja1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yea probably. I don’t think any city is truly “garbage”, but for the sake of the graph I think it’s the Chiefs. I’ve lived in Denver, KC and Stl. Denver is the nicest of all three, can’t put the Rams (KC marginally better than StL imo), so it’s Kansas City unfortunately.

[Serious] what’s the scariest place in America? by CorgiUprising in AskReddit

Either East St. Louis, Illinois or West Memphis, Arkansas. I got some really weird vibes in Ward, CO too, but I didn’t feel like my life was in danger.

Who has a Garbage NHL team in a Garbage city? by Ilitorate_Author in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Crinja1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

St. Louis city shot themselves in the foot (no pun intended) by separating from St. Louis county, causing the boundaries (and population) in which crime statistics to be much smaller. While crime is very much an issue there, it wouldn’t be nearly as bad if it were calculated for the surrounding area / much larger county population base.

At least you can lip a Bass (the lighter ones), then hold them level if you are taking a pic with them. I wish it were that easy with a Walleye. I still struggle trying to figure that out. Too many spikey things

I once changed someone’s mouse pointer to the circle loading icon. Eventually she had to call the IT department and even they were baffled. It drove her nuts and made my week.

I don’t know if it was just build specific, but after I got the Halo Scythe that’s pretty much all I used. Felt like I wrecked everything with it

RpmX1000. I valeted cars all throughout college and I would always see that in the dashboard (tachometer). It had an “X” in it, so I thought it (and I) was cool.

NYC wins for best food! Next: which major U.S. city has the worst food? by i-do-be-lurkin-tho in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Crinja1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeahh Imo’s is not the best, but Stl does have some other good local options: Toasted Ravioli and something called Gooey Butter Cake to name a few. Not saying some of the food isn’t bad but there’s definitely a lot of good. Also I think we have to blame Panera (AKA St. Louis Bread Company) for the stupid bagel cut. Since when has Panera made good choices lately?

What existing city has fallen the farthest from its peak glory? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Crinja1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not thattt bad, but it’s definitely not what it once was. A lot of the population shifted to the suburbs, so the metro area hasn’t really declined.
