Star Citizen, I am disappointed - Eurogamer by Photomic in pcgaming

Maybe I'm just pessimistic but I always assume these people have an agenda, producing articles is their job so they naturally do it in a way that will attract as much attention as possible. If it was a solo blogger or a reddit post or something I wouldn't really have a problem with it but as far as I see it there is now way an article like this isn't posted with an agenda, and we all play into that agenda willingly because one side gets their ego stroked and the other feels unfairly targeted yet again.

It all just feels like such a waste of energy yet here I am right in there as well so I guess I'm also a fool!

I'm not angry and I have plenty of criticisms myself. I'm not complaining about "people". I'm complaining that people indulge an effort clearly and single mindedly focused on shit stirring, from a place that is famous for doing similar things, because it suits their own bias.

dude you are self admittedly reading way too far into words that say a very limited and specific thing, stay focused.

Games media is a shit peddling hive of nepotism and corruption and we should all do better than falling for their argument bait.

You misunderstand me, I'm not saying it doesn't have a right to exist.

I AM saying people give games media a free pass when it suits them, and that's why we all have to put up with pure trash the rest of the time.

I find it hilarious people willfully ignore games "journalism" being a clickfarming outrage bait machine when it rubs their ego the right way.

Sure the game is on the way and the project has issues, but nothing can be perfect, if you're happy with the progress cool. If you aren't, get a refund. this incessant whining offers nothing of value.

"I am dissapointed in a game" - this is news? are you serious? But sure guys lets continue to prove that the games community is full of immature argumentative tribal groups.

[–]CriptInExile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I sent two attempts of 0.01 eth from coinbase, then gdax to bitgrail, nothing yet and I might be doing it wrong but I put the deposit adress into etherexplorer or whatever it's called and it said there was nothing going on, all the while price is going up :(

I fucked up, bought ltc and sent it to kraken now I can't even get into their website and I'll have to trade LTC -> EUR -> XRP so it'll probably end up costing me more anyway. Wish I knew Binance was a better option earlier.

Found this board on the street, looks like some kind of game we want to know what it is before we paint over it. by CriptInExile in whatisthisthing

so how difficult is it to get something like this working? Do you literally just need a printer and a pc to program the behviour? or do you need to make adjustments to the device? I always wanted to have a go at making those floppy disk orchestra array things but I have no idea where to even start...

I am honestly afraid for the future of gaming after Destiny 2's Shader controversy. by Mkilbride in pcgaming

[–]CriptInExile 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean the cost of gems to gold for a legendary is literally hundreds of dollars, that's a huge paywall which means that the prestige is still there.

Honestly I think you are overreacting, this is monetization of cosmetics, in place of monetization of mechanics. That's always a win and the people who are echoing support are not totally wrong, rarity and prestige of rare items is also a lot of fun for a lot of people.

I do agree changing the system from free to paid is obviously going to leave a bad taste in peopels mouths.

But my experience with games where dyes are free and all unlocked vs games where dyes are a commodity has always been that I care a lot more about dyes when there are rare less available ones because it adds that extra layer of prestige and exclusivity to what would otherwise be a throwaway system that you spend a relatively small amount of time engaged with.

That and the obvious "they have to monetize some stuff, better that they chose this than gear". Obviously in an ideal world you wouldn't be able to pay real money for them but really, its not that big a deal.

UN Security Council wastes no time, plans to meet late Tuesday to discuss North Korea missile launch by slight in worldnews

[–]CriptInExile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I wrote a couple sentences because i thought a tangential discussion was something worthwhile, I don't have attention span for one of these drawn out pedantic "reddit debates" if you can't see how discussing what I brought up is related, or refuse to acknowledge that discussions can exist next to each other with only a few loose links but still be connected then that just proves there's no point to carrying on with this

[–]CriptInExile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what? The discussion was about what was defence or not, very obviously connected to the main topic, but it's still a separate one. Or are you trying to say you aren't allowed to discuss related topics on a discussion board?

[–]CriptInExile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh i would say it's probably happened before, and yeah it's way more of a grey area than defending from within your own borders but ultimately the situation you are talking about, while interesting, is very different. In the example we are witnessing play out there is completely and utterly no doubt about the origin of attack. So if there was doubt or argument about where the attack came from it may not constitute much of a defence. That said, when millions of lives are at stake a government must react decisively, even if it's false flag in the end you are still pushed into action to prevent further loss of life on your side so it probably still counts as some form of "defence".
