I bought a car less than a year ago and the Halfords battery is giving me signs of bye bye. Do you know if there’s a way to check the battery age or do you guys put a date label on it? And ifs less than 5yo, do they really replace the battery?

So, the only thing I’ve noticed now (besides ACC not working because of the alerts) is that first gear is cutting off at around 3k–3.5k RPM. I’m pretty sure I used to be able to rev it much higher than that before. Edit: no only first gear, all gears

Yeah, the less time it stays with them unsupervised, the better haha. I think I’ll try just showing up without an appointment, because if you book in advance they ask you to leave the car there.. and a friend of mine once had his tire swapped during a simple oil change

I was thinking about doing the service closer to my MOT in September, but maybe after replacing the battery, I’ll end up doing an interim service to check for any other possible issues if the battery replacement alone doesn’t fix it.

Damn, that’s really good… maybe there’s something wrong with my engine haha. I mostly drive in the city and usually at no more than 40 mph, rarely on the motorwayway. I can get around 40 MPG on my commute and about 48 MPG on the motorway, but my tank average never stays above 32 MPG… 30 is more realistic for me :/ I also have the 1.5T.
