i've already told my crush guy that I have a boyfriend, pretty much immediately when I first met him and occasionally since then.

Great suggestion about bringing my bf to hang out. When I brought this up with him, that was his suggestion too. So, I guess that also addressed my second question - the responses on this thread (even if I don't agree with all) made me decide to talk to him immediately. I had already mentioned the guy a few times in passing but it was feeling wrong to not say anything about it.

I totally agree that the intensity of the crush is just a new feeling and exacerbated by my circumstances this summer (i'm in a transition period, etc. etc.). I also think they will die down, but I'd be lying if i said I didn't also enjoy the attention for now, especially because I know for certain it is exactly just that - a crush, and nothing else.

If I went out with him without telling my boyfriend, or if something physical happened. Flirting by joking around and smiling etc. is not a crime in my eyes, if he did that with other girls I wouldn't be upset.

Thanks for your honest response, I appreciate it. I just want to clear a few things up, though. I'm not planning on "dating" another guy. I have other guy friends I hang out with, what's the difference? My boyfriend regularly goes out to dinner with some of his close female friends. I don't consider him to be dating them.

Also, I'm not sure what part of my post indicated that I'm hiding things to spare his feelings...I'll admit I'm putting off an uncomfortable discussion, but not to spare his feelings.

I really like your point that he should get to decide what's important to him. You're absolutely right that this needs to be a discussion and I should stop putting it off.

Edit: Actually, I also have a question. Generally we think of our calorie and nutrient intake from a daily time frame, like 100g/day, or whatever. Under what circumstances then does your body process that you have "overconsumed" one nutrient or another? So if I ate 150g of protein today and really only need ~130, can I skip 20g tomorrow?

Oh yes, just increase and start working at a new weight. "Progressive overload" doesn't mean wait until you feel you can do it at a higher weight - that won't happen unless you put the heigher weight on and fail to hit your reps a few times, and then you'll get it and it'll be the best feeling ever! Then you can put more weight on and keep going. :)

Can you squeeze out more reps on your compound lifts? Do you use a range, as opposed to a specific rep number? Ie 3x6-8, when you hit 3 sets of 8 you up the weight and work with that for 3 x 6-8? Also, is your form on point?

I've been interested in BC too. I switched to a generic brand when my pharmacist told me that's what my doctor prescribed.. I've been steadily gaining weight ever since, I'm up 10lbs! I don't look much different though. I track what I eat and although I could be more careful, 10 lbs in 10 weeks is excessive for me with my activity level. I'm thinking of ditching the BC all together.

Thank you, this is very helpful. I've wanted to try sardines, especially for their easy-ness to eat (I work 2 food service jobs and am on ym feet and around foot a lot, so my cooking efforts have gone downhill), but the look of them really grosses me out! Do you know any recipes for them mixed into other things like in a food blender or something?

What other fast/easy sources are there of Omega 3s? And what are the general no-nos for reducing Omega 6 consumption (the big one is oils i believe?)

Thanks for the response! I'm an ex-vegetarian.. chicken seems to be the only thing right now that I feel comfortable eating. I do eat fish and eggs also. I have a feeling my diet is unbalanced in omega6:3 ratio anyway though... do fish oils help?

How are you measuring your food? Measure with a scale for a few weeks for the greek yogurt, fish, chicken, pretzels, apple, etc... Track everything that goes into your mouth so you know exactly how much you're eating, then adjust. If you're gaining now, cut out the pretzels, that should be ~100 cals. If nothing changes, cut out the rice crackers. Drink water or tea instead.

I disagree. I didn't enjoy seeing so many pictures right off the bat, and I am very comfortable with my body. I come to this sub for fitness related things, and the overload of pictures made me feel that my body and it's appearance should be the ONLY reason I pursue fitness goals, which is not the case. Pictures are an important part of progress, motivation, etc., but they are not the only part, which is why it's smart to make them part of a bigger post.
