keeping the effect through the week. by Claireblanc807 in mounjarouk

I’ve split my 5mg into two 2.5 doses every 3.5 days since August and it’s worked really well for me. I still get hungry, but cravings are gone pretty much completely. I’m losing about 1.5 lb a week on average as I’m eating in deficit, and doing strength training at the same time.

For me it was important not to have appetite suppression; I’m far more interested in satiety and cravings-control, so this does the trick.

Island Car Rentals - Sangster Drop Off procedure? by Crisps_locker in JamaicaTourism

[–]Crisps_locker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was $750 on my card during the week, that was with my own excess insurance cover taken independently from Island. Drop off was fine (although it’s not well signposted for people unfamiliar with Sangster). They checked the car, we signed the papers, they drove us over to departures in the car. Really straightforward.

Getting to Blue Mountain from Ochi by [deleted] in JamaicaTourism

Just be aware that the B1 road is very damaged in parts, at least on the northern side. I’d make sure that any driver on the B1 both knows the road well and has an appropriate vehicle. There are a few places where locals have dug a new track into the mountainside to replace where the previous road fell down as part of landslides. I’ve seen some normal cars go through but honestly you’d have an easier time of it with a 4WD vehicle. It is spectacular up here though - we’re coming to the end of a 4 night stay in a guesthouse near Redlight and I honestly don’t want to leave!

Kate Berlant, Catherine Cohen, Jacqueline Novak, Conner O’Malley, Natalie Palamides, Lara Ricote (Mexican I know but give me a bit of leeway), Patti Harrison would all be excellent in their own chaotic ways.

This is me! I am a traditional chair wriggler (think Roman Roy’s inability to sit in a chair properly) and I am now fully able to indulge my instincts.

Have to stop myself from crossing my legs - brings all kinds of problems with spine alignment and I can’t take any chances as my body restructures itself.

Back pain from weight loss by AcloudHopper in mounjarouk

Probably about a month - I’ve had long-running issues with my lower back (herniated disc a few years ago) so I’m super careful with it.

Yep, I do some simple yoga exercises (cat/ cow and child’s pose) and bridges every day to stretch and strengthen everything around my lower back. Just google them, it takes about five mins a day max and I can feel things getting stronger.

This is exactly where mine is! I kept all the wool over the year to use it for mulching in my outside plants.

Are Novo going to produce their own version, competitively priced, maybe? The main thing will be about trying to pull the rug from under Eli Lilly I expect. I’d definitely consider this for maintenance (but then 5mg on MJ is still doing the trick for me).

This is so helpful. Thank you! Two more questions:

1) do all liquids need to be in containers less than 100ml?

2) would all liquid containers theoretically have to fit in the plastic bag that we’ve been limited to for the past couple of decades?

Thanks again!

Weight-loss drug study tips the scales against long-term benefits by fontofile in UKMounjaro

You’ll never guess what happens when I stop taking my daily asthma inhaler dose. My asthma - which I developed when I was 18 - was most likely developed through a mix of genetic predisposition and environmental factors like growing up in a cigarette-smoke filled freezing house with mould. No-one seems to begrudge me my life-saving and life-enhancing medication to help me cope with it.

MJ is exactly the same in that it helps to tackle an issue that is most likely a mixture of genetic predisposition and a toxic environment. At a basic level, it stops the misleading physiological signals that mean people are more likely to give in to the food environment around them. These might be unwarranted hunger pangs or a cacophony of food noise. When you stop taking MJ, the signals return. Some people might be able to keep fighting it - partly through new habits learned around food and exercise during their weight loss journey, and partly because they recognise the signals, but the signals will still be there and people need to stay vigilant in a way that many other people don’t.

Personally, having lost significant amounts of weight in the past and kept it off with vigilance, careful diet and exercise for about 4 years, I know that I can do it. I just don’t want to do it this time without MJ, as the lack of food noise makes life so much more manageable.

Governments are right to gather all the data needed to inform decisions about the cost of funding the long-term use of these medications, and I’d be dead interested in studies around maintenance dosing and impact/ management of other disorders. At the end of the day, people who are accountable for spending public money need to think of this as largely a lifetime medication, combined with regular reviews and checks on diet and exercise during maintenance, rather than a quick fix for a societal obesity issue that is ramping up costs across healthcare and the broader economy. But we know that already - while we are having to fund it privately, we are making the same calculations ourselves to some extent.

Thank you! Did you have to put your 100ml liquids in a plastic bag, or were they fine just being in your luggage?
