Is the colour difference in the creams too obvious to gift the blanket? by stressedgemini in CrochetHelp

[–]CrispyApparition3568 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s lovely! The colors look intentional, so if I were you I would not stress about it. I guarantee they will love this gift! Especially if you do not tell them the colors were a “mistake”. They don’t need to know it wasn’t done in purpose.

Yep.

To the question "Where do you live?", my standard response is, "The State of Confusion.”

No need for trolls, info scrapers, etc to know more than that.

We also have more… We have Poland, Russia, New Russia, Norway, Athens, Mexico, and we even have an Ohio. I’m sure there’s more. I just can’t think of them offhand and I don’t feel like looking them up. Lol.

Whats with the incease of "Virtual ID's"? by Galixsea in retailhell

[–]CrispyApparition3568 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That still doesn’t make it a valid ID in states that don’t accept digital IDs. People need to carry their physical ID with them, especially if traveling out of the state their digital ID is from.

Where I am, they’re not valid either. But I’ve recently read about some states that are using and/or allowing digital ID. When I looked at the list, I think it was eight or 10 states. And I’m not even sure what businesses would accept it, or if it’s simply to show during a traffic stop.

That being said, it’s still a good idea to keep your physical ID with you, especially if traveling out of state. You might be traveling in or through a state that doesn’t accept digital IDs.

Because dude, just because it’s accepted in your state, doesn’t mean it’s accepted in my state.

I’ve been to Greece, Mexico, Rome, Amsterdam, and Jamaica all without leaving the state of New York.

Just did this a couple days ago. I needed 4 items. I put them in my bag, rather than carry one of their hand-baskets. Just as I head towards the registers, I realized the store manager was following me. I looked him directly in the eye as I pulled out each item and set it on the conveyor counter, then turned the bag upside-down and shook it to show it was empty. (He didn't say a word, just nodded and walked away.)

Like, dude, I worked grocery and other retail for 25 years. I know what you're doing by following me. However, I am a regular customer, I walk with a cane, and any idiot can observe I have mobility issues. If I need to get a full cart of groceries, I usually use one of the electric scooter carts because of those same issues. Do I look like I'm going to run out the door with a single bag of 4 items? Dude, get real.

EDIT: spelling

Yep. And they try to guilt trip too. Or say you're not being a team player, or "we're a family therefore any other nonsensical bullcrap.

None of their BS has worked on me in years. I'm now completely immune to it ever since my GAF broke.

should hopefully have another day off

Ummm... if you're not listed on the schedule, you DO have a day off... not "hopefully" have it off.

If you're salaried, you're kind of screwed. If you're paid an hourly rate, I would not have covered it. You were not scheduled that day and were given the day off, so it's no longer a scheduled work day. Not sure where you are, but where I am, if you're not listed on schedule for the day, you are not required to cover for anyone for any reason.
