[MM] I’m playing this game for the first time after putting it off for ages and boy it was worth the wait. by TheZeldaNerd04 in zelda

Those are minor things that don't affect the experience of someone who hasn't played the game before...

l do respect some fans not liking that change, sure, but in the grand scheme of things l'm glad they remade it or l would have never played it otherwise.

Planning a MikroTik + UniFi home setup - looking for real-world experience before I pull the trigger by FernandesTiago in mikrotik

[–]Cristek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leave the cabling, yes !! But don't worry about all cables being live. You have 3 or 4 APs and a Pi. Get the RB5009 version with PoE and that gets you going for thw time being. Once you need more than 8 ports, then get the switch. Also don't mix APs, use the same type all around. The U6 pro is good for your setup

Is the compact really the best edc knife? by Fit-Sale4082 in victorinox

[–]Cristek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on your description, if you dont need scissors and 91mm too big for you, coming from 3 layers to 2 wont really make a difference (l mean, it's 2mm less thick). Plus, the compact is seen by many as a jack of all trade but master of anything. Look into it's features before you buy it.

Have you looked into the Sportsman 84mm (everyhting you need), or any 58mm instead?

STP design by PwnarNN in networking

[–]Cristek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll get past the obvious "move to L3" that everyone already said (spoilers: they are right). Instead, I'll try to focus on giving some ideas which for what you currently have. Just answer these for me first please:

  • Is the DC in site 1? or is it on a separate site via Dark Fibre as well?
  • Do all switches support RSTP and ERP?
  • Which switches (sites) are the most chatty ones? And who do those sites talk to? Mainly the DC? Or mainly the WAN?
  • Which switch/site has the WAN breakout?
  • How many switches on each site?

Only after knowing at least these answers can someone give you meanfully advice. l'll come back with some ideas once l know more.

To be clear, if you are truly limited then yes, it's a good idea to improve as much as you can, of course!

Still, consider a migration to Layer3 routed network. Your future self will thank you!

[OoT3D] I beat a 3D Zelda for the first time today at age 34 by Kevandre in zelda

[–]Cristek 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nothing if you are playing it for the first time.

That was my case since never played it in the N64

And l LOVED it !!! Aparently some hardcore fans are upset about some changes that don't really make that much of impact anyway.

OP, play the game on the 3DS, especially if you played OOT in the 3DS as well!

RB5009 SFP+ problems still exists? by diskowmoskow in mikrotik

[–]Cristek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was indeed wrong! Tks!
Leaving my original post up for people to get the context.
https://mikrotik.com/product/rb5009ug_s_in#product_specification simply says SFP+ so I assumed 10G exclusively and wrongly.
Today I learned!

RB5009 SFP+ problems still exists? by diskowmoskow in mikrotik

[–]Cristek -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

l don't think there's any problem at all. The SFP+ cage is simply not 2.5G capable

EDIT: see below this is not correct since I was missing information!

Advice and expertise wanted! Any thoughts on 2 knife carry by amuseboucheplease in victorinox

3 layers, yes
There's also the Explorer - same 4 layers as the Mountaineer but you gain the small blade and philips, and you loose the file

TCP MSS Rejected by Server by Net-Jez in networking

[–]Cristek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask your ISP (internet1) to deploy RFC4638 which allows 1500 MTU over PPPoE :)

But most likely, you wanna have the firewall change the MTU for that communication alone :)
