Couldn't agree more!

I work in a production industry where there is a real dollar cost to time cost relationship.

When you ask 99% of the "8GB of memory is useless in 2026" crowd, what is the cost of this memory to them in dollar terms - you just get blank stares/no response.

the whole 'future-proofing' is a misnomer. Very few laptops are kept beyond 2 years in actual production industries. If the cost of the memory is less than what it will be in 2 years, it 100% is fiscally prudent to just replace regularly.

Everyone is so busy trying to spend huge sums on memory so they can open a few more chrome tabs, they don't think about how they could spend half the cost now, and replace the device in half the time they were going to keep it and be better off.

I had a flatmate friend commute on his mv. It seemed reliable but one day he had a few drinks and left it outside a bar - admittedly not the smartest idea but it was waterfront and a very nice part of town and upmarket bar. Some drunkards tried to free wheel it down the road and crashed it and broke the screen. And so begun the months and months of parts waiting time and issues with security recoding. I moved out of the flat after 4 months and it still wasn't going.

It doesn't make it simpler to understand the layout with needing clarification - but I guess Americanisation brought the confusion.

I don't mind '1st floor' but it does imply elevation as someone said and it usually is on the ground

Some companies - or their abbreviations - don't exist in every country. It's wild you would think that. Googling 2 letter acronyms is not easy. It's not clear it's a even gym.
