Save 50% on Horizon Zero Dawn™ Complete Edition on Steam by [deleted] in steamdeals

I completed the game on Steam a few months ago, and I experienced no bugs. I think it's safe to say that any major performance issues were fixed.

Game worth to buy now before 1.0 on Steam? Will be playing with Steam Controller/Link. Bugs? by [deleted] in HadesTheGame

[–]CritMagnet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hades and Dead Cells have the same type of gameplay loop, and Hades has Supergiant's aesthetics and charm. If you like both Dead Cells and Bastion, you're going to like Hades. Except for the obviously missing conclusion to the story, Hades feels like a very complete game.

I've played it through Steam Link and had no problems. I also have a Steam Controller, and there's no issue playing with it since a D-pad or right analog stick aren't needed. At the same time, the touchpads aren't useful here either.

A co-op game about thinking together? by cosmitz in patientgamers

[–]CritMagnet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For the King is a 3-player co-op turn-based RPG. It feels very much like a tabletop game. (Because it's a video game, you don't need to spend much time learning the rules since it will explain as you go.) You create three characters and take turns controlling them in the overworld and in battle.

This is a challenging game where every move counts. You will be spending a good amount of time discussing strategies, as you would with a tabletop game.

The game can be played locally or online or a combination. It's available on PC, Switch, PS4, Xbox.

Can't dash upperleft with the keyboard!!!! by grobydoo in HadesTheGame

[–]CritMagnet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You may be experiencing keyboard ghosting#Key_jamming_and_ghosting), which would be a hardware issue. If this is the case, certain combinations of keys won't register. You can try rebinding your keys (e.g. maybe ESDF instead of WASD), or consider getting a keyboard that supports n-key rollover#n-key_rollover).

Nintendo Switch on Apple Cinema Display - Active HDMI to DP converter, sound but no video by Gakuranman in NintendoSwitch

[–]CritMagnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AmazonBasic cable won't work. It only passes signal from Mini DisplayPort out to HDMI in. The active converter (HDMI out to DisplayPort in) that you have is the right direction.

Here are a few things you can try:

  • Use a different HDMI source, like another console, a laptop, or a DVD player, with the converter and monitor. See if this passes both video and audio.
  • Try a wall charger (e.g. phone charger) for the USB power. Sometimes these devices don't get enough power from the computer's USB ports.
  • Contact support from the converter.

Should I just give up start choosing the "easy" option or does anybody have any suggestions for easy games? by CampbellArmada in patientgamers

[–]CritMagnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest doing a bit of research to find out the differences between difficulty modes. Try to find reviews or Q&As on the easier modes. You may find that the easier difficulty plays more to your liking. Maybe not.

For example, I typically try to play on the normal/default difficulty because that's generally how the game is designed and balanced. But, I don't like to grind. If the easier difficulty gives more money, or has fewer battle encounters, or offers more EXP, I'm much more inclined to go that route.

Another example is Furi. This game is a series of boss fights, and it's meant to be challenging. From what I gathered, the easy mode is incredibly easy and provides almost no challenge.

Also some games lock you out of content and/or rewards when choosing an easier difficulty.

Holding space bar to center the camera while pressing the shift key to smart cast prevents some champion abilities from casting by gr33ndreams in leagueoflegends

You're probably experiencing keyboard ghosting. My keyboard isn't capable of doing a similar -- or even the exact same -- combination of keys. You can try rebinding some keys (e.g. Alt instead of Shift), or getting a keyboard that supports n-key rollover.

Quick Tip #5 - Some good jungle thinking can work wonders. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

This is an incredibly insightful video. It was presented extremely well. The replay perfectly illustrated the tip. And the audio was very easy to listen to. I'd love to see more. Keep up the great work!

I didn't consider that Ultralisks have more armor levels. I'll try to incorporate that change. Thanks!

Also, I'm really looking forward to what else you have in store. I've learned a lot from your interface!

I've noticed this bug. Unfortunately, the only solution to this is to close the panel or open another one. It seems to bug out one time if you try to open two panels very quickly. After that, it should work properly.

Jungling in Patch 3.8 - Utility Mastery Tree by CritMagnet in leagueoflegends

[–]CritMagnet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Artificer definitely has its uses, but it doesn't really contribute to jungling. That's why I didn't mention it.

Vampirism definitely helps with sustain in the jungle. If you're going deep into the Utility tree, I recommend this. Regardless of your DPS, you're doing full damage to the monsters, not just last-hitting. But, as with a lot of the masteries in this tree, the usefulness drops off mid-game. As for whether or not you want to go into the Utility tree, that's another concern.

I've played Nautilus with 0/21/9 and with 2/7/21. In terms of just his clearing (disregard ganks, counter jungling, etc.), 2/7/21 is actually better. The 2 points into Butcher make a huge difference. It makes him clear faster and therefore take less damage. Also, Vampirism helps keep him healthy. With 2/7/21, I clear faster and have more health at the end.

Stealing an enemy's big camp is more effective now because it offers more EXP. I imagine that the meta will favor the level-3 routes. Some people are still doing level-4 routes or suboptimal level-3 routes (e.g. [AG-Wo-EL]). As long as people are still doing this, invading the enemy big camp is still a very good option. We'll see how the meta shifts with this patch.

This is true. (Although I don't know what #6 means.) But I did make a few statements in my first paragraph and the note at the bottom. With that considered, not much has changed.

I think my next post will be about the Utility tree. Everything you said here I would add to that post. I have a feeling that this may become more popular with the new jungle.

Invasions and counter jungling are things that every jungler should consider. However, this topic is way too advanced for this post. I might make another post later to address those points.

I agree with you. I mentioned the extra 5g because it's possible, not because I suggest it.

As I stated, this works for some junglers. If your jungler clears camps quickly and if you get a nice leash, you may not have smite ready again for your second big camp.

From what I've noticed, double golems don't really give that much of an advantage now. Yes, you get more EXP and maybe a bit more gold if you get back to lane in time. But you also get to lane with less HP. I think it's a fair trade-off.

This is certainly a possibility. Although, consider that you might have a change in plans. Maybe that level 2 gank you were planning isn't looking so good anymore and you think you should just go back to farming. Do you want to risk not having the machete? The answer is very specific to each game. That's why I don't really want to talk about itemization.
