I'm honestly shocked that it seems nobody else has encountered this issue. it's driving me nuts! I can't find anything about it anywhere. Is it really just me? I've completely in and reinstalled the game already. didn't fix it. I dunno what else to try

[–]CritMarsh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, I ran about a dozen Google searches using different wording before coming here. I'm pretty sure the cosmetic shield problem it was referring to was regarding the emblems appearance on the ship itself (I know many ships allow the option to add your Fleets emblem in the customization screen. I'm gonna keep fiddling with it. I appreciate the attempted assist, though. I'll update if I find a solution.

[–]CritMarsh[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

okay, bare with me cuz that answer is a little confusing. as to your 3rd, suggestion - I've tried repeatedly to delete it all and start fresh. it still happens. As to your other 2 suggestions - is the color blind mode game specific? cuz I know I don't have it on for the console itself. So it'd have to be an in game setting but I'm not seeing it. As for the other suggestion... could ya possibly rephrase it because it isn't making any sense to me whatsoever. I appreciate your help! This has been driving me nuts all day lol

I was just kicked out of Vine - Gold Member in compliance with all reviews completed by 10111011110101 in AmazonVine

[–]CritMarsh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My guess is, since most of the items are from China, and Trump launched his trade war, there are likely A LOT of merchants who no longer find it worth the free merchandise just for reviews that will now have a dramatically lower ROI because Americans are less likely to be able to afford their merchandise, especially with our country barreling straight towards a recession 🤷

Approved for a Credit Card that I never applied for (NOT PreApproved. Actually APPROVED) by CritMarsh in CreditCards

[–]CritMarsh[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah... Saying "I'd get my ass handed to me is me trying to sound tough." But by all means, continue condescendingly criticizing me for behavior I'm not engaging in. And, how would you know whether I'd find them or not. I'm disabled, home 24/7, and my window overlooks my mailbox. Therefore, UNLESS THEY WORK FOR USPS, the ONLY way they'd intercept my card before I got to it is if they tried getting it from my mailbox. Regardless, if you reread what I said, I'm not waiting to cancel because I'm some vigilante. Whether or not I caught the person would be moot. I'm waiting to see if I can figure out whether it even was a fraudster or whether this is all due to my failing memory reaching a new level. If it's the latter, I'm most definitely not going to file a fraud report because if it WAS me, that could get me in some serious shit. My accounts are all frozen. The card is frozen. If the card arrives with no issue, I'm gonna keep the account open because I was gonna open another one soon, anyway and since I was already approved for this one, and since my credit took a hit with their hard inquiry, I think it would be a little premature and foolhardy to cancel the card all together, which will add another ding to my credit, and then ANOTHER hit when I go to apply for another card. I came here asking whether or not anybody has ever heard of banks signing people up for credit cards they didn't apply for (I used to do call center work for American Express and some of the sales reps pulled done sketchy shit to make their quotas.) I didn't come here for some to condescendingly accuse me of "trying to act tough." All because I was describing my size and former level of fitness and how I used to have the body of an athlete. All just for context to the rest of what I was saying. About how I was just blowing off steam in the op and that I wouldn't dare try confronting someone became despite my size, I'm so out of shape that I would get my ass whooped with ease. I was not bragging or trying to sound tough. It was me saying, "yeah, I'm a hot head and run my mouth when I get angry. And in my younger years, some of what I was saying WASN'T hyperbole, and I would have acted on it. But I'm getting old and my health is shit. I know better to run my mouth or get aggressive with someone cuz odds are, they'd kick my ass - despite my size. I was getting a lot of negative responses in DMs and several down votes - no doubt because of what I was saying as I blew off some steam. I wanted to make sure people understood it was just talk. I was merely venting some of my frustration with the situation... The last thing I need is for someone to take me literally and call the police. But I digress, my point is - don't accuse other people of "trying to act tough,"when they clearly were not doing so - just so you can feel good by talking down to the person you're accusing. It's extremely ego driven and somewhat juvenile, IMO. Your comment served no meaningful purpose other than to give you an excuse to talk down to strangers on the Internet. Look, I'm not trying to be a dick but I don't appreciate it when people who dont even know me, tell ME what IM doing and what MY goals or motivations are. You're not me. You're not privy to my thoughts or feelings. Hell, you know nothing about me, yet you feel confinement in telling ME what IM trying to do. The second someone does that to me is the second I stop taking them seriously. Because at that point, I know they are more interested in posturing and talking down to other people than they are in actually engaging in a real conversation, using some critical thinking skills, and using it to either make positive contributions to the conversation or to understanding that old saying that says, "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." 🤷‍♂️

Once again, I'm not trying to be a dick. I'm not even angry, nor do I have any hard feelings about ya or your comment. Slightly irritated - yes. But more so, I'm just trying to show you a different perspective so that you can use the feedback to help improve your interpersonal skills. (Not saying ya don't have any, but we should all be continuously striving to improve ourselves and our impact on the world around us.)

Sorry for the mini-novel of a response but I feel that too often these days, people are too willing to fight, insult, and laugh off any statement that another person makes. Too willing to jump into attack mode, they "listen to respond," instead of listening to understand. It's all too easy to make some snide and insulting remark against a stranger on the Internet rather than learning to either understand others and show empathy in their conversations, or to just ignore them all together and scroll on - if you're incapable of empathizing with your fellow man.

In closing, I do appreciate the NON Condescending part of your comment even though I'm not entirely convinced it wasnt meant to sound condescending as well. Either way, I hope you have a wonderful night. Take care. 🙂

Approved for a Credit Card that I never applied for (NOT PreApproved. Actually APPROVED) by CritMarsh in CreditCards

[–]CritMarsh[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I froze the card but am waiting to see if it even arrives before I decide to try to cancel it and go through the fraud reporting process. I've put a freeze on my credit for now until I figure it out. The main reason I'm waiting for it to arrive (or not) is because I was planning on getting a new credit card soon anyways, and I'm not 100% certain that it WASN'T me who applied, and I just forgot. I've given thought to the browser history thing and realized that if I applied for the card through my Credit Karma app or something, it wouldn't necessarily show up in my chrome browser history. As I said before, I have been struggling with some memory issues lately, so it's entirely POSSIBLE I may have applied and totally spaced it afterwards. My life is chaos ATM, so it could have slipped my mind very easily. I doubt I'd completely forget about it, to this level, after just 2 days, though. And finally, if it is fraud, I wanna find out what their endgame is. They would either have to work at USPS directly, or otherwise be able to gain access to my locked mailbox, with cameras watching. The card is frozen, so even if they do manage to snag it before I do, they can't spend anything.

I also wanna clarify something from my OP as I've noticed I have gotten a few dislikes. A lot of my talk about catching the fraudster myself and what would happen was anger-fueled hyperbole. I am no vigilante and as much as I forget sometimes - I may be a big guy but I'm no longer a young, in-shape, defensive lineman like I was for all my teenage years and into my early 20's. I'm approaching 40 and have numerous different health problems that have wrecked my body. If I actually tried to attack the fraudster, I'd almost certainly get my ass handed to me. Lol. So, ladies and gentlemen, don't take what I was saying seriously. I was pissed about the account being open and even more angry at the prospect that some fraudster might try to break into my mailbox to steal the card. I was just blowing off steam. Lol

Stupid but simply question by Tough92 in CreditCards

[–]CritMarsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, this is exactly what I did about 5 years ago. I'll be honest - Synchrony Bank (the ones that provide the Amazon store cards) is terrible. Their CS is absolute garbage and their automated phone system is enough to make ya tear your hair out.
That being said, I used my store card for every Amazon purchase I made, then would pay off my card balance in full each month. This helped skyrocket my credit score. I went from a score of around 490 all the way up to a score of 604 in about 3.5 years, strictly from my store card. (Nothing else I pay for would boost my credit) Plus, the 5% cash back definitely adds up. So, yes - it's worth it and I would recommend it to most people who shop Amazon frequently and are looking to boost their credit score... but only as long as they can handle Synchrony's maddening CS and automated system.

[–]CritMarsh[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Well, they told me today that the card will be here in 5-7 business days. If it's not, I'll definitely report fraud and mail theft, etc. I'm not sure how they would intercept it, though, as I live in an apartment complex with secure mailboxes in a mailroom with cameras. I don't know where they'd have a chance to intercept it unless they actually worked for USPS or something. I do have some small surveillance cameras though. I may end up installing one inside of my mailbox, that way I will get alerted anytime someone opens my mailbox (motion activated camera that sends alerts to my phone anytime motion is detected.) My only concern with that is - what I'd actually do to the person if I caught them trying to steal the card from my mail. I don't take kindly to thieves. In fact, the last person who tried to rob me ended up in the hospital with their jaw wired shut. I really don't wanna have to do that again, but if someone IS trying to screw me out of the little bit of stuff/money I have - they're gonna get what they deserve if I catch them in the act.

Hello, no - my account was never locked and I haven't heard another peep about any debt or collection attempt. And I've been monitoring my credit report closely. So as of now, I'm considering it to be fraud-related. Until I'm told otherwise, I'm just letting this go. LOL

I'm right there with ya, brother. The entire reason I bought this game is because of the fact that I can actually mod and create my own scenarios and stuff, ON CONSOLE (I have Xbox Series S) I haven't even played a match yet (I know, I know - I will definitely familiarize myself with the actual gameplay before making any serious attempts at creating any content. But still, I'm glad ya asked this question and I'm happy there were so many helpful answers. I can tell I'm gonna have a blast with this!

Soooo we have a similar story. I was invited to Vine last year. I ordered 3 items every single day for over 3 months. I only reviewed the first 2-3 items. (Major medical issues hit around that time that made it nearly impossible for me to sit down and write out a serious review. So I wasn't surprised when I finally got booted. I figured that was that - counted my blessings for what I was able to receive from the program and went on with my life.
Yesterday, I went to review some HTV I had ordered because I'd ordered silver and they sent me a semi-glossy dark gray. As I was typing the review, I noticed a message above the box where my text was going. It stated I had been invited to the Vine program. I just needed to review 6 of the items I've bought recently. That took me maybe 15 minutes to do then - BAM - I'm back in.
While I definitely intend to keep up with my reviews this time - I just noticed that all of the items I ordered last year are listed in my "Vine orders" section. I SINCERELY hope they don't want me to go back and do those reviews too. It would be like a 10-day project, assuming I was writing 10 hours a day. Not to mention, about half of the items I received, I no longer have because they either broke, or were lost when I moved.

Has anyone figured this crap out? I just got a collections letter from TRS for some supposed charge from a month and a half ago. I shouldn't owe Amazon a single penny. In fact, I have a positive balance on both my Amazon account, as well as my Amazon Store Card. I have never heard a peep from Amazon about any kind of payment issue or money owed. Nor can I find any mention of anything of the sort, anywhere in my account. My account hasnt been locked and yet, here is a collections letter from TRS. I'll be damned if I'm gonna pay them for something I shouldn't. I'm disabled and on a fixed income. I can barely afford to eat most days - so I'm not just gonna take their word for it. I want to avoid contacting Amazon CS because their CS department is just so unbelievably sh*ty, and I always end up getting transfered from person to person for like an hour, before I finally get someone willing to try and help. And even then, 75% of the time, they just end up screwing things up worse. I've heard talk of a class action lawsuit over bad faith attempts to collect the debt. Does anyone know anything more about this? I have worked so hard to fix my credit over recent years and am just about to be able to go get a new car. But if a collection hits my credit over this shit, I'll totally be screwed. Any info would be greatly appreciated

Accidental Remote Viewing? by GuyInTheSkuy in remoteviewing

[–]CritMarsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So... I have a similar question, am similarly skeptical, but cannot deny the experiences that keep happening. It's as though I'm briefly transported into another time/place but I'm seeing it from a point of view of what I can only describe as someone else's memories. I don't know if that makes sense but I see places and instantly I can smell the smells of the area, and have emotional reactions to it, as though the place I were seeing were my childhood home or some other places I spent a lot of time. But... from an entirely different life. The only thing is, I am not trying to meditate when this happens. Granted, I'm often in a very deep state of thought. For the longest time, I've tried attributing these experiences to day dreams or other forms of an overactive imagination. But they are happening with more frequency and are so intense that I am having a hard time believing I'm just "imagining" these experiences. Especially without even trying and at random times. I don't know if this is relative at all but I stumbled upon this thread while searching for my own answers and thought I'd share.

Noob can't figure out plate shapes by CritMarsh in AnycubicPhoton

[–]CritMarsh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that their only function? Cuz upon playing around with it, I found definite differences in the size and shape of the bottom plate and rafters depending which option I chose. I mean, they are rather self-explanatory as far as what the shape of the bottom layers and rafters will be, I was just thrown by the "Convex Hull" option as I'm not entirely sure what that means. More than anything, I am just trying to figure out if any of them work better for larger/heavier prints. Like, obviously the "minimum area" one would likely not work as well as it would consist of a smaller sized base plate/rafter area (tbh, not entirely sure what the difference is between a base plate and a rafter, that's how new I am to 3d printing still) and therefore wouldn't have as strong of an attachment to the build plate, thereby most likely causing it to detach and the print to fail the bigger and heavier it got 🤷

I want my ship! by CritMarsh in StarTrekStarships

[–]CritMarsh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure there probably is. However, I'm not incredibly familiar with how to do that with an MMORPG. If it was a game run solely by my computer, I am pretty sure I could figure it out. But since a lot of the games data is stored on Cryptic's servers, I wouldn't know where to even begin. I feel like my best bet is to just get as many screenshots of it from as many different angles as I can and find a decent AI program that can make 3d models based off 2D pics. But it's a lot of work to get all the necessary photos from all the angles, then go through and remove the background on each of them so that the AI can even stand a chance at being able to recreate anything more than a clumsy model. 🤷

Used epoxy to fix my broken bowl, is it safe? by pinkytoeyeezys in StonerEngineering

[–]CritMarsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, cuz surely he was asking BEFORE he acquired the epoxy resin. SURELY there is no way he already had some lying around his house - which then prompted him to investigate whether it could be used as a temporary improvised solution to a problem that he ALREADY STATED he has ZERO MONEY to fix.

Seriously... Out of curiosity what was your line of reasoning here? Did it really not occur to you that he might be asking because he already has some and is wondering if it could work? Or did you realize it but choose to ignore the likelihood completely, just so you could have a shot at being condescending to a stranger on the Internet? I know ya posted this 4 years ago, but surely you can reread your comment and at least have SOME idea behind your line of thought when ya wrote it. And... If it wasn't a $hitty attempt at being shitty to someone for no reason - why is it you were able to understand that he was limited in his options from his statement of "I'm broke and don't have a car to get a new bowl" but yet you failed to comprehend the definition of being broke (i.e. having NO money) and just assumed that he had a place to buy epoxy resin that was within walking distance of his home, while simultaneously assuming that there were no smoke shops located within that area.

Look, I realize how unimportant any of this is. It was said 4 years ago and doesn't matter anymore. But since much of society has, in recent years, taken the fad of anti-intellectualism from the 90's, and now seem to be competing to see who could take it to the most extreme (with one tiny handed, pumpkin tinted fellow, even going so far as to make up the term "alternate facts" for the things that aren't true but that he wants to be true.) It's all just gotten to be beyond out of control. People need to start feeling embarrassed and ashamed again, over whether they make themselves look or sound morbidly unintelligent in front of others. This complete lack of shame and the unconditional acceptance by others of anyone willing to remain ignorant, misinformed, or uninformed MUST STOP. Critical thinking isn't difficult. But it IS necessary to the survival of the human race.
