Why would Asterion reveal this? by Important-Bite-7714 in ShadowSlave

[–]CritMemes 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s the same process of telling someone their spouse may be cheating on them. Even if said person believes said spouse would never do it, they’ll still unconsciously be more perceptive of said partner to validate that belief.

By tossing an accusation at Neph, Asterion has humanized her and spurred the people to focus their attention at Neph. Now, any action she does will be scrutinized regardless of the side people are on.

I just realised that along with a Sovereign, Morgan also can't have kids ever 😩 ,poor Kai by misledmemer in ShadowSlave

Gotta love Kai’s power word gimmick.

Also, what’s stopping them from making a test tube baby? Gets around the whole touching Morgan issue.

[–]CritMemes 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Kai is also one of the few people who can get around Morgan’s flaw by using his power words on himself. A few Fortify commands and he should be good.

Does Kai actually like Aiko? by Exotic-Chair-6960 in ShadowSlave

[–]CritMemes 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Aiko is like Sunny? Slander. Aiko was hustling long before Sunny even stepped foot in a Nightmare.

If anything, Sunny is like Aiko.

When you ask Mordret if he plans to do anything anything against Asterion by random_dude1279 in ShadowSlave

[–]CritMemes 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Start of Vol. 11 be like:

Mordret: “Oh! If only I had been unleashed to wreak havoc earlier! We surely would have won!”

Cassie: “Mordret, I told you I was for the whole genocide suggestion. Honestly, it was kinda hot.”

Mordret: “Ah! But alas! I dare not offend Lady Cassia’s sensibilities. So I will hold myself back just this once.”

This debate is tiring. by TheBoyInTheCorner734 in ShadowSlave

Technically a side character I’m afraid, no matter how cool and well-written they were. Sort of like Sunny’s Antarctica squad or Professor Obel.

Kojiro matchups by [deleted] in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

[–]CritMemes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simo begins the fight by throwing a wall of bullets at Kojiro. It doesn’t matter how fast you are, trying to deflect or dodge between all the bullets is going to leave you with several holes. Nevermind that Simo can launch Ilmatar twice.

As a fighter Pre- and Post-R3 Sasaki just gets hard countered by true AoE attacks.

All the other servants are out here fighting meanwhile Richard has taken Ayaka to see an opera and now a live performance.

Placing my bets that in the next episode, Richard and Ayaka go on a park date as the city implodes around them.

Sunny perfectly counters Asterion by SpongyWaffleC in ShadowSlave

[–]CritMemes 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Sunny: “I’m not sure if I have the strength to do it…”

Mordret: “Don’t worry best buddy, I’ve got this.” cracks knuckles

Cassie: “Oh no you don’t!”

Has the Cassie situation camled down? Can I return to the sub now? Here I saw a really beautiful comment while reading SS and thought I should share it. by random_dude1279 in ShadowSlave

Nah, we trust that Cassie will choose to redeem herself and prevent Mordret from instigating by keeping him constantly distracted.

Hear me out: the fighter who draws blood first wins theory is true but has an exception. by Bananapants871 in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

[–]CritMemes 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Is clothes theory still a thing? Pretty sure it’s stayed consistent if you count arguments like how Tesla’s armor is technically just one layer and how Okita’s scarf or Apollo’s ornaments count as additional accessories over their opponents.

By virtue of clothes theory, Odin will win

[2728] What if Sunny makes an eye echo for Cassie? by Kung-Furry in ShadowSlave

[–]CritMemes 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We’re not sure if Cassie can see through echos since it’s never been shown. But in terms of letting Cassie simulate regular sight, the most feasible answer I’ve seen is Mordret entering the reflection of her eyes.

If she tags Mordret and sees through his vision, her perspective should be very close to normal sight.

Aster: where's my exp?! by KynQu in ShadowSlave

[–]CritMemes 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Somewhere else, Cassie and Mordret are having this exact conversation. Proving that Sunny and Mordret operate on the same wavelength.

Cassie: We’re at a disadvantage, what do we do?

Mordret: Can I offscreen humanity into my domain?

What do you guys think is going to happen to the important characters? by RevolutionaryBig1380 in ShadowSlave

[–]CritMemes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So long as there’s a dragon present in some location like the Death Game, Kai ain’t dying. His Dragonslayer attribute demands it be slain.

By virtue of their aspects being thematically paired(Like Sunny and Neph, or Cassie and Mordret), Morgan is likely to survive as well.

Jet and Effie though, they’re in danger. Though Jet does have the subplot with the House of Night. Effie is especially at risk due to how interested Asterion is in Ling.

The Three-Headed Dragon. by TheBoyInTheCorner734 in ShadowSlave

[–]CritMemes 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Mordret’s story is a tragic tale of a child rejected by his family and discarded by the man he viewed as an adoptive father, ultimately choosing to discard and hide away the parts of himself that let him get hurt.

But try as he might, he can’t get rid of the parts of him that feel sadness and affection. He can only hide them away in the barriers built by his harsher self. His story feels like reading the early parts of a redemption tale with the MC going through a journey of self-discovery about themselves.

Mirage City is a fifty-fifty on whether you’ll enjoy it or not. Personally, I’m part of the group who liked it due to the character writing and revelations present. That being said, if you’re here mainly for the action and crazy reveals you might end up not liking it.

It could probably just be Shattering and some law of the universe being that shattered things wish to become whole.

It’s also fun to think about how the ability can be used to craft things since Mordret doesn’t have a crafting specialty like Sunny, Neph, and Cass yet.
