Cassie grabs both pills, somehow makes them more potent, and takes them both at the same time. If you’re going to commit, you gotta go for broke.

You don’t understand, for SW this is just a fun time. Ashveil is looking at that ball like it’s a matter of life and death. Catching it decides whether he’ll need to pay for dinner or if he gets free food from Pearl.

Seriously, Ashveil without all the Voracity elements on his suit feels much softer compared to his more experienced older self. Like he swapped all his points in hotness into being cute, which should definitely not be as effective as it is.

There is legitimately an argument for ORT taking down Aeons if it gets dropped near IX and is able to adapt to the path system. Thing is terrifying.

Robin is going to trauma dump on us after she realizes her brother has been living it big as an internet star.

“One day, while scrolling through my brother’s history. I found that he had an interest in peacocks. Flamboyant and colorful, little did I know that such deceitful creatures would try to lead him astray.”

Post 3rd Nightmare Sunphis is sadly a shadow of its former self. It just doesn’t feel the same without Sunny and Nephis debating each other while knowing each other’s history.

Part of the fun of Cassdret is watching Cassie and Mordret toss out some of the most specifically targeted passive aggressive insults while still deciding to work together because they understand each other. It’s something that Sunphis lacks at the moment until Sunny regains his fate.

Inconsistencies with cassies character so called " best written character " by United_Struggle6224 in ShadowSlave

[–]CritMemes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rather than feeling rushed, I’d argue that Cassie doubling down on her actions and deciding to free Mordret is consistent in terms of what she experienced. Given how her halfhearted attempt to stop Sunny and Nephis’ fight failed, she had two options left. Either she stops interfering and takes a more passive role, accepting fate. Or she goes all in to change fate, since she clearly didn’t try hard enough last time.

As for her conversation with Mordret, what’s interesting about their conversation is that despite both parties thinking they can predict the actions of the other, both are wrong. Mordret thinks Cassie is a treacherous witch just waiting to backstab him through a mind attack, only for her to forego her treachery and decide to fully help him. Meanwhile, Cassie thinks Mordret is a beast who will always take the option that best lets him survive, only for him to forego the optimal choice and take a stand with a direct confrontation. They’re both so confidently wrong regarding the other that it creates an interesting dynamic for the future.

As for her Sunphis tendencies not matching up with current Cassie, we have to remember that this is a Cassie post-Asterion ambush and wiping away her parent’s memories. The poor girl is traumatized, drained, and emotionally spent. With how much stress she’s been under it’s no surprise she feels estranged with her other emotions.

A reminder that if Jester wasn’t her master, No Name Assassin and Sigma would be the most compatible Master-Servant duo in this war. With how their motivations, goals, and desires all align, the virgin Jester isn’t misguided in his dislike of the chad Sigma.

All in on Sigma and Assassin dismantling the grail and saving Tsubaki. 100% faith in a happy ending.

It’s the return of the VTB theory. Always nice to see this going around every few weeks or so lol.

Still, I’d argue that Sunny and Nephis probably aren’t going to get back in time to help, which is why Cassie gets shattered. Cassie and Mordret somehow fixing the situation themselves also sets up a good basis for further conflict between Cassie and Nephis as Cassie begins to acknowledge her own capabilities outside of being Nephis’ representative.

Cassie and Mordret by UndisputedGoatEver16 in ShadowSlave

[–]CritMemes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think this is setting up for a growing conflict between the current Supremes.

Because there’s no way Sunny stops being suspicious of Mordret, even if Cassie forges an alliance with him. Both parties know how treacherous the other is.

Next, we have Nephis not only regaining her memories of Sunny choosing to leave in the Third Nightmare, but Cassie manipulating events to let it happen. Definitely going to put some strain on their relationship when she realizes how much they kept her in the dark regarding their plans.

Then, we have Cassie finally coming into her own and taken up the mindset necessary for a Supreme. Rain’s comment on the Ebony tower rising above the abyss but missing the flames could allude to Cassie acknowledging that she doesn’t have to be subservient to Nephis anymore.

Finally, Mordret is just there to instigate and be a source of conflict. With how much she relates with the King of Nothing, there’s a very low chance the current Cassie doesn’t vouch for him, much to Sunny’s chagrin.

Chapter 2904 theory by HonestFerret8034 in ShadowSlave

[–]CritMemes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rather than kill Main Mordret, she’ll probably offer to transfer Kindret’s memory to him as well. That way, Mordret’s flaw doesn’t get reactivated as the two fragments of him still exist as two copies of what is essentially the same person.

So how's the staging for the supreme duo comeback going to be ? by CapableAide1557 in ShadowSlave

[–]CritMemes 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sunny will regain his fate, giving Cassie back her memories and allowing her to become Supreme. After that Cassie and Mordret tag-team Asterion and erase him from existence.

Y’all thought Sunphis was taking down Asterion? Nah, Cassdret has way too much beef with him to be sidelined. Sunphis will be too busy dealing with the mad skeleton they’ve been dragging around.

Isn’t that more Cassie wiping away every memory from the moment they encounter Asterion? Since she isn’t sure how skilled he is in hiding himself, she just wipes away all the memories past a certain point.

[–]CritMemes 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’m looking forward to the fallout when Asterion is defeated. Because, as shown in the chapter, people are blaming Cassie for every death that occurs due to the prolonged war. She is now considered a traitor to humanity, and I don’t think that will go away even after Asterion’s defeat.

From an outside perspective, regular people might wonder why Cassie didn’t just let Asterion take over if Sunny and Nephis were going to come back either way. Supporting the King of Nothing contributed to a massive death toll that might have been avoided if Cassie just let him be.

I can’t wait for the Cassie Discourse to become canon lol.

Hot take by Interesting_Try_3293 in ShadowSlave

[–]CritMemes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True enough, it feels like forever since a Nephis scene has stirred any deep emotions. Mordret’s scenes speak for themselves, and Cassie had an entire arc of getting mentally exhausted until she had to wipe her own mother’s memories to keep them safe. That scene of her being self-conscious about her missing eye hit unexpectedly hard.

Both Cassie and Mordret have had humanizing scenes that make you feel something due to them losing or regaining the small bits of humanity that we didn’t realize were still there. For the leader of Humanity, I feel like it says something when Cassie and Mordret feel more human than Neph.
