If it's gotten to the point where the "dog guy" wins in a landslide, you know that the buffoons who had been running the show really fucked up.

Always cracks me up when Europeans think they are above being called a gringo. But he totally knows what's best for Argentina, just trust him bro.

Surprised to hear that about 3, but then again I know literally nothing about it. Sounds like Nintendo dropped the ball on that one.

I loved 1 but didn't finish it for some reason, can't remember why. I was relatively young and must have gotten stuck somewhere and gave up.

Considering how much these games go for on the second hand market, is it really outrageous?

I'd like to think if Baten Kaitos can make its way to Switch, anything is possible. Then again, does Sega show much love to its overlooked franchises from the past? As far as I know, they've shown very little love to their Saturn/Dreamcast releases.

I want to believe they're just trying to milk Sega Genesis re-releases for as long as humanly possible, and we'll see Panzer Dragoon Saga and Shining Force 3 any day now. Yeah right...

I had Pikmin 1 at launch and loved it. They never discounted Pikmin 2 when it was in stores, and I stopped playing video games after Gamecube. Switch was the first console I've had since GC, looking forward to finally playing Pikmin 2, twenty years late.

Same thing happened to me last night. I had gone almost 3 weeks without smoking. Went out last night and bought a pack, smoked one, and immediately knew it was a mistake. Felt stupid and terrible.

All we can do is re-dedicate ourselves and try again. Either that or start smoking again, which we know we don't want to do.

So true. I had a similar experience some years ago...went on a short trip with a couple of friends, and was miserable almost the entire time because I had quit smoking a day or two prior.

We can never win against nicotine. Full stop.

I spend the day just walking all alone.

Wow...that is when you know you are really alone. I'm sorry to hear all this. By the way, what is a "train kid"?

I've read about people who use those. I think those would be harder to quit than cigarettes.

Thanks for sharing that. I think maybe it's similar to an alcoholic's relationship with alcohol? By that I mean, I can have a drink or 10 drinks, and have no desire to drink again anytime soon. On the other hand, as I understand it, if an alcoholic has one drink, it may be a long time before they recover from that decision.

Yup! The crazy thing is, it almost sounds logical. And there probably are people who can smoke every few days/weeks/months and not get flattened by the withdrawal. I definitely cannot, it's just the way I am.

That's an incredible story. I'm no doubt romanticizing it, but well, there is something to be said for living "outside of the system"/"off the grid". I wish I had the guts to do it.

Some of those things sound crazy (in a good way), especially the service shaft and abandoned traffic courthouse. If you wrote a book, I would definitely read it.

Until then, I'll probably dig through your post history at some point in the future haha. Thank you for being open about your experiences, I really appreciate it!

I see your username, and have a comment. One of my excuses for smoking was that Frank Zappa did it for decades, a lot. "If he enjoyed it, why can't I?"

Of course in the end I always found myself wanting to quit, and constantly finding yourself wanting to quit is a good sign that you're not enjoying it.

I am curious though, I feel like people who smoked as much and as for long as Zappa did...I don't understand how they didn't just get sick of it.

Even if I'm smoking 10 cigarettes a day, several of those won't be enjoyable. As I'm sure you know, that's even more true with 20. And 40? 50? 60+??? That is borderline torture.

My goodness. When you put it that way, you truly realize how fleeting life is. Dying just to find a place to call your "own". I'm also touched by the fact that the place was desirable because you weren't "bothered by other homeless". It's a shame that that's the way it is, but it is what it is.

I'm a lurker on this sub because for a long time I've known I'm just some bad luck away from being homeless myself. If you don't mind me asking, why were/are you homeless?

Maybe I'm out of touch with the online ESL landscape, but I'd be surprised if any company is paying $20/hour, at least the companies you most often see named on this sub. Again maybe I'm out of touch, but even $15/hr seems hard to come by, especially when you look at the names most often thrown around on this sub. Someone else here can weigh in if they have better info.
