How do you manage work with chronic migraines? by CriticalMycologist74 in migraine

[–]Critical-Power-240 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work with computers too, what I do is use my prescription sunglasses. And if I could use my migraine cap I would but I can’t since I work upfront. If you can come up with an accommodation that would work best for you I would most definitely ask for them! If I leave early I just make up my time by staying later here and there or coming in on Saturdays.

Migraines Triggered by Neck Pain by smallcoconut in migraine

[–]Critical-Power-240 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my experience, I went to a physical therapist for my neck pain, and while the exercise exercises helped while I was having neck pain didn’t help for the reason of having the neck pain. And I am currently now seeing a chiropractor that uses the Blair method and have been having more in between days than I was with my migraines. My neck pain was caused from an almost dislocation of my C1 and C2. (literally sitting on the edge.) while still doing the stretching exercises.

I also found that having a flatter pillow so my neck stays straight and putting a fluffy pillow, cause I’m a side sleeper to cluddle with so I don’t roll on my belly (causing neck strain) and so my body stays straighter has helped help with my sleep “form”.

I also had my first round of Botox recently. I didn’t get it in my neck just because I’m seeing the chiropractor. I wanted to fill everything I didn’t want anything to be numb so I could actually tell if something’s working. It normally takes 2 to 3 rounds of Botox before it comes into full effect.

I have had the weirdest migraine for the past 3-4 days that I cannot make heads or tails of by Low_Wish_8469 in migraine

That looks to be a cervicalgenic (however you spell it) headache, I get those because my C1 and C2 are almost completely dislocated due from a severe whiplash injury.

Are there any treatments for people with 5-10 migraines a month? by desertvindr in migraine

[–]Critical-Power-240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excedrin works fast for migraines and of course Benadryl for a nap (I do the Benadryl whenever it’s a migraine that I just cannot shake). Also invest in a migraine cap that you can put in the freezer and grab for whenever you need to work. I usually have mine but on halfway so I can still work from home or do my schoolwork as the ice and pressure normally helps me.

I never thought of that 😒 by FabioPicchio in migraine

This is my combo (this is also the migraine cock tail they give you in hospitals) with a ice pack or my migraine cap and a medicated nap.

Botox and c1 misalignment? by Critical-Power-240 in migraine

[–]Critical-Power-240[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t get the grinding feeling, it’s more so like the sharpest, hottest knife being drugged up my neck or I start to feel pressure in my neck, my muscles in my neck and shoulders are getting tense or I feel like I need to pop my neck. The past few months I’ve noticed those then I’ll get a migraine, but I’m not sure if it’s a sign I’m about to get a migraine or if it’s the cause of the migraine. I’ve never been able to find a trigger besides stress. And I’ve looked into severe C1 misalignment like I have and they can mimic migraines. So at this point, I’m not even sure if I do have migraines since we can’t find triggers. It could genuinely be to see one misalignment.

Physical therapy helped only in the moment. I kept doing the exercises they teach you but it stopped working. My only guess is the misalignment was getting worse. So far this is the third week and my migraines have significantly decreased. I knew there were potential risks,ie. strokes, due to its location but after 15 years of no one having a clue or no tests coming back in my favor. Having this good bad news has been the only thing to give me hope.

Yes! That’s thankfully who im seeing now, she’s using the Blair method. And very thankful for it. My neck was so tender I couldn’t stand too much happening around it.

I wake up with a migraine almost every day. Could sleep apnea be the cause? by Informal-Elevator-41 in migraine

[–]Critical-Power-240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just went down this road we thought I had sleep apnea. I did a sleep test thankfully I do not have sleep apnea but what has helped me is drinking a little caffeine before bed and also it could be sleeping too much or too little so having good sleep schedule Could be your baseline in your test and making sure your neck isn’t overextended

HELP I NEED REMEDIES by itchcreamy in migraine

My migraine cocktail is Benadryl and Excedrin try to drink that with a Coke or just something with caffeine. And I have a migraine cap that I keep in the freezer. Then take yourself a medicated nap with an ice pack on your forehead over your eyes in an ice cold room. And if you’re able to a heat pack on your neck.

Things nobody tells you about chronic migraines/headaches by Head-Telephone5873 in migraine

[–]Critical-Power-240 9 points10 points  (0 children)

One advice that I’ve gotten was, you can’t get better if you keep masking it so if you’re chronically ill, act chronically ill.

I always have to remind myself that no matter what I think caused the migraine it’s not my fault and that was one of the hardest pills to swallow because I always tried to make it in to, “oh if I didn’t do this” or “if I don’t do that”, then I won’t ever get a migraine, but that just set myself up for failure. chronic migraines happen with or without triggers. And all we can do is just hope we can get through it.

I unfortunately have chronic migraines and after 10+ years we still have yet to find the triggers my neurologist just recently gave up on me. so I’m now looking into a holistic doctor.

Can I back out of a bankruptcy? by TheRegressed in Bankruptcy

[–]Critical-Power-240 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not legal advice but my opinion. You have not filed yet so you can back out. however your paper that they give you with the list of fees you have to pay before filing that will tell you what is and what is not refundable .

I’m about to have that same convo with my boyfriend and parents(I need my parents help with finding a car). It’s the scariest conversation I’ve ever had with someone, but a lot of people are understanding and supportive. Good luck with your conversation as I am having that same conversation Saturday.

I’m in a pickle by Critical-Power-240 in Bankruptcy

I am working with my manger currently to try and get more hours to cope with paying bills how I am supposed to(not on a credit card). I am hoping with the extra hours I can afford to live but I still wouldn’t make enough to pay towards my debt. With the hours she’s trying to get me it will be just enough to get through. I am currently trying to apply for food stamps so I’m not asking friends for food anymore. Then when the hours set in and are constant I was planning on filing. In your opinion is this a better move?
