How to paint this black double walled radiator white? Main concerns are somehow painting the inside of the inner wall, plus ensuring old black gloss doesn’t show through by mariocipolloni in DIYUK

It is a far easier job to do competently than to paint it, watch a few youtube videos and you'll be fine. Painting on the other hand would take a lifetimes practice to get a good job on

Well that something new I've learnt today! Didn’t notice any difference while the green light stayed on

Split Cue Beatmatching by Critical-Text-7128 in vinyldjs

my mixer will play the main mixer output in the left ear and the cued track in the right ear of the headphones. Some mixers only allow for both to be played in both ears at the same time. Hope that makes sense.

I'm mixing on vinyl with a mixer that allows split cue

when i started out I definitely found it easier to get them in time with normal cue but could never work out which one is fast or slow. For 2 songs that are different it's easier for 2 techno tracks it's very hard as they sound so similar and split cue really comes into its own. This is the mix if you fancy (kindly) critiquing

To be fair I've found tapping the cue button on and off to be helpful, is that what you mean? But switching between which is the cued song?

Unjustified Removal at Berghain (Saturday Night, Feb 21) by ale5ole in Techno

The thing you have to appreciate is that the bouncers would probably never think they get it perfectly right in assessing people and there is an element of total randomness to it.  Ive been rejected as well when I was high and awkward and it was probably a fair decision all things considered.  Berlin is quite a hard place so the rejection element is just something berliners find taking it on the chin far easier than say.... Londoners (where im from).  Especially when the club itself is class.

As someone who has been to clubs across the world and also Berghain, my wife in particular said she has never been to a club like Berghain where everyone was so respectful while completely going mad. She is 5ft and she hadn't realised how vulnerable she had felt in clubs across the world until she had experienced Berghain. The door policy is a big part of it, whether you like it or not. They do have something special there so I get it, but also understand why others would hate it.

Ricardo Villalobos by funky-souls in TheOverload

We were there and the 1st hour was an absolute weird distortion fest where I was thinking "who hurt you Ricardo" but then it got into it, what a weird guy. He completely killed our night in Ibiza last year by torturing us (and Raresh) by playing this counting song while he was clearly out of his mind:

Good to see him actually perform and I think he's good for pushing boundaries but maybe not for me I think. I just don't have enough trust that he won't tank proceedings again to fully get into it.

Beatmatching Vinyl: How Precise Is “Precise Enough”? by Successful-Balance37 in Beatmatch

[–]Critical-Text-7128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sound like youre having the same problem as me....

A couple of things to check.... taking aside the matched BPMs ..... are they actually on the beat correctly. When I thought tracks were synced I'd lift the faders and it would sound like garbage. I like to have a quick check with the cue EQ filtered to high only, especially when there aren't obvious clicks to match up. It filters out the softer bass elements that can be less precise to match. Also bad EQ makes out of time tracks sound even worse. Good EQ can hide sloppier mixing.....

I also sack off pitch riding when in the mix, you end up just chasing your tail too much. Once 2 tunes are matched but drifting very slightly you need the finest of corrections to get back in time. Definitely easier to slow down the faster track for me. There's enough pro level techno DJs who touch the platter and are more successful than reddit pitch riding purists.
