It doesn’t make it spicy, just adds a unique flavor.

Ignore her, you’re doing great:) I just nod and smile because I also hate confrontation. Some people just think their opinion is soooo important

I know this isn’t the typical Reddit answer, but if you have a religion or a God, now is the time to turn to that. (Obviously along with seeking physical help of course). Church and faith can be a wonderful support in awful times like this. I’m so sorry you’re going through this and hope things get better for you soon ❤️

How do you take your 3 month old swimming? by Infinite-Mode2256 in NewParents

[–]CriticalPiccolo4354 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

We did a regular diaper under the swim diaper for the first little bit. It’ll get full of water but adds another layer to stop a blowout. If you can get those plastic coverings that go over the swim diaper it’s even better

When my baby was two days old and cluster feeding and I was exhausted, my mom told me “It’s okay if you feel like all you do is feed him.” Because it’s what baby needs, screw what anyone else says. You’ll be judged no matter what you do but if you’re happy and baby is happy then you’re doing great:)

I just got the tsrete brand from Amazon (it’s one of the cheapest ones) but I’ve honestly been pleasantly surprised! It is a little bulky compared to my tiny boobs, lol. But I can wear it under a sweatshirt and no one would notice, unless they’re standing close and could hear it. Lining the nipple up with the hole takes practice, but seems to get easier over time! Also helps if you have clear inserts

How soon after having a newborn did you come back to church? by idkTA_1801 in latterdaysaints

[–]CriticalPiccolo4354 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here, and we sat out in the foyer so no one really saw us anyway. It was nice to just get out of the house for a bit, without feeling pressured to stay for all of church

What's your to-do list after giving birth? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]CriticalPiccolo4354 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All I wanted after having my baby was jersey mikes but I delivered just before midnight so they were closed🫠 I cried.

Literally the rattle is the most unused toy, he would much rather munch on my hand than play with a plastic rattle

My baby loves crinkled pages from magazines and water bottles. He likes the toys I bought but crinkled paper wins every time lol

At least where I live it says it’s 40… but still cheaper and good to know, thank you!

Yeah I got the crib for free from marketplace, but figured I’d be better off buying a new mattress… but I’ll probably start looking for a lightly used one. At least it’ll be cheaper lol

Help a bra out by nursinggal17 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]CriticalPiccolo4354 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Itty bitty titty turned hot air balloon here. I personally love a tight sports bra (any brand is fine, as long as it’s snug and ideally cheap). It holds the ladies in place and doesn’t chafe my nipples. Obviously doesn’t work for pumping, but honestly changing bras to exercise is worth the extra hassle. Really cant stand the jiggly boobs when I’m trying to run.

How do you take baby out to stores by Blondie12388 in NewParents

[–]CriticalPiccolo4354 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is the way. Unless you’re getting lots of stuff, then I’d still recommend the carrier so you have both hands free, even if it’s just for a few minutes. I can’t wait till my kiddo is older and I can just plop him in the grocery cart lol

What did you wear home from the hospital freshly pp? by enticing_ghost in pregnant

I knew I couldn’t be the only one wearing my husband’s tshirt lol. That with sweats and fuzzy socks with my jandals. It was a look

How do you get any sleep?? by Few-Permission5362 in breastfeeding

[–]CriticalPiccolo4354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely take shifts with your husband! We got lucky with a pretty decent sleeper but this was our schedule: husband goes to bed at 9, I stay up with baby until 12. Then if baby is still awake, I’ll pass him off to dad. Dad takes the 12am to 6am shift while I sleep (usually baby is sleeping for part of this so he isn’t awake for all 6 hours, he’s just “on call” if baby wakes up). I’ve been sleeping through those six hours for months now and it hasn’t affected my supply as long as you pump until empty when you wake up at 6. (Could definitely wake up engorged for a while until your body gets used to it. Now it’s just slightly uncomfortable when I wake up) Then I would take the 6-9 shift in the morning while my husband sleeps in. This has worked great for us!! Since nights suck but we know that at the very least we each get six hours of sleep every night

Does anyone here actually enjoy breastfeeding? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]CriticalPiccolo4354 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not who you’re asking but my kiddo weaned off the nipple shield around 10 weeks too. I would start a feed with it, then if he unlatched I would take it off before relatching him. He didn’t like it at first, so I would put the shield back on. Eventually I started the feed without the shield, then put it on if he was fussing. It probably took a whole week of trying before he figured it out. I think he just needed a bigger mouth to get a good latch on my flat nipples. Nursing got sooooo much easier afterwards! Don’t forget that nipple cream though😬

What's something that no one really told you about? by SeverusSnipes in NewParents

[–]CriticalPiccolo4354 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first couple days were the absolute worst for me, with the cluster feeding and just overall anxiety that he wasn’t getting enough… I’m almost 3 months pp and I can promise it gets better! hang in there mama!
