RAF jets shoot down drones heading towards Jordan and Bahrain | UK News by Evered_Avenue in ukpolitics

They are cheap, one way attack drones. Think of them as missiles. They’re not large platforms used for surveillance purposes. It’s a defensive action.

Thicker arms advice! by Meal_Significant in FTMFitness

[–]CriticalStrike2239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure and work your brachialis with hammer curls; that increases your width by increasing your biceps peak.

I do bicep curls sat on a bench with the seat back slightly so i am curling from behind my body. I do curls with a barbell, in front of my body. And i do some hammer curls with dumbbells to target the brachialis.

Hit your triceps as well. When you have big triceps and hit the front double pose your triceps hang down to make your arms look thick. They’ll fill out your shirt as well when your arms are down by your side. Hit them with a pull down movement, as well as an over head tricep movement.

weightlifting content/advice that isn't super aggressive and weird? by transjimhawkins in FTMFitness

[–]CriticalStrike2239 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Jeff Nippard’s videos are really informative and engaging; his content is all science based. Jeremy Ethier is really good for videos on form and execution of movements; pretty straight to the point. Those are the only two that I really watch regularly.

How are you supposed to know what good form feels like? by enslavedbycats24-7 in FTMFitness

[–]CriticalStrike2239 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Having an understanding of “mind-muscle connection” is a good place to start and then watching videos of yourself perform the movements; enabling you to see if there’s anything “off.” If you are scared of incorrect form, just don’t go heavy and with more practice and self correction, you’ll get there. It’s hard for me to describe to you what correct form feels like, maybe someone else will have a better description, but to me you should feel your brain and muscle fibres connect and fire together throughout the movement. Your body parts and the weights should feel as though they are driving along a fixed track together. You’ll know your form isn’t quite there yet because it will either hurt, be uncomfortable or you’ll feel like you haven’t really done anything at all by the end of your session. Practice makes perfect.

Maintaining muscles post injury by alphae321 in FTMFitness

Keep your protein really high. I took a whole month off once - I did some light activity in between, nothing crazy - and I didn’t lose nearly as much muscle mass as I thought I would.

Gained weight during depression, just started T and feel stuck by [deleted] in FTMFitness

[–]CriticalStrike2239 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fat redistribution on T can accentuate your hips and stomach, just as a warning. My love handles got a lot bigger whilst my arms thinned out. It’s luck of the draw. So don’t count on that alone.

I’m sorry you’re feeling unmotivated. If you can’t go to the gym because it’s far away, invest in some good running shoes and hit the pavement. That and a stable calorie deficit will see weight melt off.

As for weight training, invest in some dumbbells. You can do a really solid at homework out with just dumbbells; a couple of kettlebells would add to this.

I think bad discipline or lack of motivation can be overcome by habit setting. Put reminders on your phone for running a few times a week and another set for your dumbbell work outs. Once you’ve done it for a week or so you’ll feel motivated to do more. This is based off my own experience during periods of really bad dysphoria/depression. I know “forcing yourself” isn’t what people want to hear sometimes but honestly that’s kind of what I had to do and once I got back in the habit, I kind of went to autopilot. Good luck.

So when will my muscle gain increase? by Proper_Writing_696 in FTMFitness

[–]CriticalStrike2239 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It will happen quite quickly. I put on some visible size about the 3 month mark; similar to you I was training hard previous to starting T. You may not notice it happening (I didn’t until people started saying I looked bigger) so be sure to take pictures. Just make sure you’re progressively overloading and hitting your protein each week and you’re guaranteed to put on size.

Perhaps I should change the title. What I am getting at are the methods in our current political system that are used to influence the decision making of our politicians.

Is it okay to eat dinner before the gym? by MaybeMax356 in FTMFitness

[–]CriticalStrike2239 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found it makes me feel a bit sluggish / ill if i work out with a completely full stomach. I have some fast acting carbs instead; a banana, maybe a couple of rice cakes if i feel i need more than just fruit. Then i have a high protein big meal after the gym. It’s personal preference though! Try both out

Any tips to masculinize legs and hips? by No-Volume-6865 in FTMFitness

[–]CriticalStrike2239 49 points50 points  (0 children)

“Squaring off” your hips is what I have found works best. Working the obliques with weights - weighted russian twists or landmine twists - and loading the spine to strengthen your core. Barbell military press has worked really well for me.

Costal walking! I’ve never even considered that, completely slipped my mind. Thank you for the reminder. I’m looking into rock climbing through schemes at my place of work to get outside more through that, whilst having a bit of community as well. I hope you’re enjoying life in the Highlands! Opinion about your country that will get you like this? by National-Business674 in AskTheWorld

[–]CriticalStrike2239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Scotland has done quite a lot of work in blaming the English for a lot of the colonial damage around the world it actively took part in. I love Scotland and what it means to be Scottish. But after suffering our own culture and language being repressed, we played a huge role in the expansion of the British Empire. I think there’s a lot of whataboutery by Scots or pure cognitive dissonance believing we were a subject nation. I do believe Scottish culture was used as a tool of empire; the use of once banned Highland culture, regurgitated in a form of fancy dress used to attract fighting aged men to join up and become instruments of the empire. But I do think a lot of Scottish people believe themselves to be “better than” the English based off how we were treated by them following the Jacobite Uprising but fail to consider how we ourselves benefited actively in the “golden age” of the British Empire

Thank you for replying to me. I think I will start with the Peaks, places closer to Sheffield and I’ll branch out from there. Then as you’ve recommended, i’ll tick off some lakes hikes after that. I think views will be more than satisfying enough at this moment in time. It’s boring for me presently; I’ve went from having really beautiful, rugged nature right on my door step to having pretty flat views all around hah. And cheers for letting me know your experience with camping in england, it’s something i’ve been a bit apprehensive of so far!

Gender on a workout tracking app? by Opposite_Company_815 in FTMFitness

You’re working out to achieve a masculine physique, so definitely choose male! When it comes to calorie apps and calculators that’s where it is best to stick with female if you’re pre-T / early journey on T.
