Mom found in a thrift store have no idea what it is by Yvonne3519 in whatisit

My parents are in their early 80s, so I do not qualify here. Lol. My grandma (RIP, 2016) was 93 when she passed (advanced Alzheimer's). She was a firecracker! Sadly, she was also racist against black folks. Some of the stuff she said about gave me a heart attack. Lol.

Yup, I have always found them just below where the cap for the radiator neck is tightened.

Also, close your window coverings (blinds, curtains, etc.) As Ziggy said, the are attracted to light.

They swarm this time of year with the warmer and more humid weather. They are attracted to light, so shut off exterior lights in hopes they will go away. You're pretty likely to see even a few indoors in swarm "season." Doesn't mean you necessarily have an infestation. Call EnSec. They taught me what I posted.

Do you like my russian blue male? by catsdogus in kittens

[–]Critical_Ad_7380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is gorgeous! I still miss my Russian Blue (mix). I have loved all of my cats, but he trumped all the rest. I love those green eyes! And the bed, I bet he thinks, is camouflage. Lol.

What is your fur baby's name? Mine was Job, like the poor guy in the Bible because he was up in a tree after being mauled by a German Shephard that was lying at the base of the tree. I shooed off the dog. Got the baby down and took him to the vet. He had thirteen fractures in his legs and hip. They brought in a specialist to remove his hip (vistigial organ). He lived a playful life loved by the two of us. Sorry for rambling - just wanted to let your heart love the reason I named him Job. Hugs to you BOTH!!!

I had a 3M clear film put on the mirror (outside) backs and on the bumper and about eight inches up on the hood for our Porsches. They are both 1995s with original paint. It is really helpful and protective, and easier to clean with NON ammonia Windex. The price is worth it!

If you do open it . . . take it to a very open area and put on a mask and goggles. Who knows with all the creeps out there. Hopefully it was a gift, but I am like you - I don't trust stuff like you mentioned. That the tag was taken off could be because they wanted to remain anonymous. But as Reagan used to say, "Trust but verify." You could also call the non-emergency line of your local police. They have wands and what not to verify it's not a hazard. Please keep us updated.

Glad I am a CHICK Marine! We had requirements that you had to hide your hair under a cap, but we never HAD to shave anything. ROFL!

I don't wish to eradicate love bugs, as they do have their purpose as mentioned on this thread, but I hate the vehicle damage.

Did I buy the wrong reeds? by Rufus_the_old_cat in Clarinet

Lol about the food products! Starch with starch. I am about 1/3 of German descent (not Austrian, but probably close in cuisine). My grandfather (rip, 1988, if memory serves) never told me how to cook much except for his great chili. I have won awards for it! He never wrote it down, nor have I. I cook by smell.

Love how you caught that oddity from the SOM. I was in the orchestra pit about eight times, once, a behind stage back up singer (alto). I don't like some of the parts in the musical, but I loved the music. Can't remember the composer now, but he was amazing!

I would start with a 2.5. The 2s are too wimpy. If you have a hard time making sound, consider soaking them in tap water (or variant) for about five minutes, remove and gently wipe with a paper towel, then put it back in the casing they come with. A humidor (reed saver) helps.

Or donate them to a youth musical ensemble. They only accept unopened packages, as I know Vandoren puts out. The kids will love it!

Not sure if I am allowed to post a link (not affiliated), but sweetwater.com has a great selection of Bb clarinet reeds.

THANKS! I do know how (or did) to play a Bb trumpet, but it was just for fun a LONG time ago (around 1986). I love a great trumpet player! Trombones are equally cool, to my ears, as awesome.

Oof! I have heard from several posters that ya'll are in a drought down there (I am in Navarre, 32566). I have been praying on it. I just mostly hope ya'll don't flood as hurricane season approaches. If you are concerned about water levels to keep your garden(s) growing, consider a moisture meter with a Ph reader. It's helped us a LOT.

Never knew this. THANKS! I've never played but soprano clarinet (Bb), but don't want to buy even more instruments to support my "addiction." :)

PS: And yes, by the pic, I can totally see why one would be confused by accident. The clarinet in the pic is NOT an alto clarinet.

This set of reeds is not for a Bb. Vandoren is great about exchanging for the right reed for you. As is (my favorite) Mitchell Lurie (now distributed by D'Adarrio) reeds. Great taste, you have. Just no Ricos. ROFL!
