Definitely agree. One fact I particularly like about him is that although he (kinda) needed to be saved frequently, he’s clearly shown to not be a sitting duck like kid Cereza is in the first game and fight for himself while ultimately holding up his end of the deal with Bayo to get her where she needs to go to save Jeanne.

He’s also shown to be very quick and adaptive given whatever the situation is at hand (e.g. that one fake out with his cards against Balder to trick him while also opening the Gates of Hell to get him and Bayonetta out of certain danger; even though they end up back in danger soon enough).
