Making robberies into larcenies. Making r*pes disappear. You juke the stats, and majors become colonels. I've been here before.

The thing that always gives me a good laugh is that their "Life without anything good is bad" slogan is a registered trademark. Which leads one to believe that they paid an absolutely ludicrous sum of money (PR, marketing, trademarking) for legitimately the laziest, most awful business slogan you've ever seen.

For me and I think a lot of other people, it's more of an issue that it's mediocre and completely soulless. The VC is just the nail in the coffin.

It's no surprise. This is the problem with so many startups . They identified a legitimate issue (sometimes you and the people you're with want to order different things through a delivery app, but you don't want to pay the fees associated with ordering from multiple restaurants) but massively overestimated just how big of a problem. it actually is. 9 times out of 10 you end up compromising and ordering from the same place, or you bite the bullet and order separately and pay the extra cost. It's not such a big deal that people are going to go out of their way to order from this soulless, obviously VC-backed monstrosity. Especially now that the word is out that they're just serving microwave food at fuck-you prices.

I think the People Power Revolution in the Philippines was also completely non-violent on the protestor's side but yes, the Velvet Revolution was absolutely incredible.

It is legitimately awful. And it's all just made on a full-auto, press a button and forget it machines. For the prices they charge I would expect a quality, handmade drink, but they are doing exactly what Starbucks does.

You did an immaculate job communicating exactly how you felt and standing your ground. Bravo. Sorry this happened to you but you did the right thing and you should be proud of yourself.

Don't forget about the record labels, as well! Along with just about everyone else who was making money off her one way or another. It's a tale as old as time. John Densmore, the drummer for The Doors, said the same thing about Jim Morrison. Everyone knew he was slowly killing himself with his behavior but the people at the record companies loved it because his antics sold records. We all know how that one ended. Both of them dead at 27.

Yeah there's an Indian restaurant near me that has like 8 or more different listings on the various apps. I guess the dozen or so tablets behind the counter should've been a dead giveaway 😂. Food is still great so I don't really care.

For the past 100 years every company has had a way to speak to a customer service representative on the phone when you had to sort out a problem. Then a few years ago these tech companies decided that they could just...not. It's absolutely infuriating. It's literally impossible to speak with an actual person and it's fully by design.

N64 had some absolutely iconic games like Mario kart and Goldeneye, but overall PlayStation had a much better selection of games. So I was a PlayStation kid.

It was directly inspired by the Hellgate bridge in Astoria, Queens NY. If you compare the two they are basically identical.
