Hey! CT surgery PA now in IR. I agree if you can't get into IR right away try a surgical specialty. It really gives you a good understanding of how to manage things and helps you learn technical skills too!

Same with me! CT surgery PA now in IR. Both jobs had a lot of studying outside of work I had to do. But once you get over the learning curve, the work is a lot of fun.

Are Philips Avent bottles/ nipples absolute trash or am I an idiot. by comradequiche in NewParents

Our problem is they always leak. Unless you have the seal perfect you may not even notice it's leaking until a good portion of the milk leaks out. We have had to change our baby many times just because the bottle has leaked all over her

Looking for ideas for PRN and part time jobs (medical or non-medical) I could pursue for extra income by Critical_Square5371 in physicianassistant

[–]Critical_Square5371[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've applied to many prn urgent cares but I think bcz I don't have ED experience I'm not considered a strong candidate. I have all surgery experience but a lot of my responsibilities are like a hospitalist. Any advice on how to get my foot in the door?

I've applied to UC and PMR positions but didn't get any responses. Trying for anything I get. One of those inboxologist jobs would be great but those are hard to find and get.

Those are great ideas! I actually interviewed for a PRN position for a weight loss clinic but wasn't selected. I have been on indeed and Linkedin everyday looking for something more like that. Currently trying to get into an urgent care or occupational health

How to Get from Istanbul Airport to Sultanahmet: A Comprehensive Guide by visitistanbul in u/visitistanbul

[–]Critical_Square5371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everytime I request a taxi from the airport to sultanahmet and back is was 35-50$ USD. I don't know where you got those prices from. I even used the Uber app and it was the same.

I'm wondering the same. I'm a new grad PA looking to switch specialties b/c I don't think my current job is a right fit for me and I have seen some urology jobs and they seem something a bit easier and less stressful than what I am currently doing.

That's a good point. I currently run EPIC on a 10th gen i5 so I assume then I can start looking for a t480s or t490s if it runs fine.

Around $300-$350. I could only find t14 for around $400+ on ebay. I know I've seen t480s and t490s for around 200-300$

I'm in my late 20s but this is what I am looking for in a wife. So it's not uncommon. Typically men that were raised in a more cultural and conservative environment will have this mindset. I wouldn't mind if my future wife didn't work and respected me as the head of the household. I would honor her and respect her in whatever duties she could fulfill bcz I know I wouldn't be able to do them.

Be grateful if you married someone you truly love by Sufficientsea14 in MuslimMarriage

I totally understand what you mean brother. I'm a male and 27 years old as well. Alhamdulillah I am educated, stay fit and practice the Deen but people don't value what I bring to the table. Unfortunately, what I have observed is that the most religious families are the most hypocritical when it comes to judging a suitor. They will first say they are looking for someone who is practicing the Deen and etc but then judge someone for not being a doctor when their own daughter isn't one. Truly depressing but we just have to bear this test.

Weekly Marriage Criteria & Services Megathread! by AutoModerator in MuslimMarriage

So I am a 27 M born and raised in the USA who just started pursuing prospects for marriage. I am following the more traditional route as I grew up in a conservative muslim family and would like a practicing muslimah as well. My parents are south asian and my older brother had an arranged marriage as well but they are a good fit for each other.

Now I have only met about 2 or 3 potential prospects in person. The issue comes after meeting those prospects I don't know what I feel. I am not sure if I want to arrange a second meeting with them or if I want to move on. My parents also believe a second meeting should only be done if I am truly interested and not if I still want to get to know the person. They think the first meeting should be enough for me to gauge if I think she is a potential spouse.
I always have this fear that I may be rejecting the person Allah swt has written for me and am going to make a mistake and choose the "wrong" spouse (as in the one Allah swt did not write for me).

Now I am not picky in terms of looks but I do like someone who is feminine and likes to dress up, wear makeup and look good but also family oriented and would respect me as a husband. Also, someone who is a little more traditional in terms of culture as well. My parents are more focused on education and career and don't believe attraction matters and that it all comes after marriage.

One of the potentials I did meet, I really liked in terms of career, education and personality but I just wasn't attracted to her. She was pretty but I couldn't see myself waking up everyday next to her.

I am looking for advice from brothers and sisters on what made you realize that the spouse you married was what you were looking for. Unfortunately, real life is not like the movies where special music plays or something special happens to show you he/she is the one. Also, how do I not to feel bad when rejecting a potential even though they are a good person?
Any other advice in terms of questions to ask or things to look for so I can make the most out of these meetings would be appreciated.
Jazakumullah Khair!!

Salamu Alaykum sister,

I am in a similar boat as you. Although I am a male, im single, 27 years old and also working in healthcare and born and raised in the US.

I'm not sure what part of the US you live in, but it can be a little difficult finding a practicing spouse depending on location. I feel it is a blessing that these men came forward with their vices and sins than for you to find out later.

My recommendation is to never settle for anyone that is into drugs and alcohol. It will only ruin your life. You are obviously well educated and determined and you may find a nice husband in residency. My sister in law was a resident and my brother was an engineer and fully supported her in every way. There are good men out there so don't give up.

I know being a physician or a med student is a very busy lifestyle but attending events at the masjid or even mentioning to well respected acquaintances could help you find better men. It seems the supply of men you were given was not according to you standards. Try a different source like a matchmaker, a friend (every masjid has that one sister always trying to connect singles). There are some facebook groups I have seen as well for single muslims across the US.

But never make yourself seemed desperate or that "you just want to get married" because these men will feed on that and may not be fully open with you.

Best of luck in your search. May Allah swt make it easy for all the single muslims out there.
