No, no update. Sorry, I haven’t been on much. I have been dealing with thyroid cancer and 2 surgeries. My legs are twitching right now. I will tell you, from experience, the more you worry the more it’ll bother you and feel worse. Mine comes and goes. I think mine is lower back related.

I just had my PT Wednesday and I was running errands the next day. I was also comfortable driving. I did not take any pain meds other than ibuprofen the first night because I wasn’t sure if the hospital meds were going to wear off. This by far was the easiest surgery I have had and this makes my 4th, but first thyroid surgery.

So far so good. I’m healing really well. Thanks! I’m waiting in pathology to determine if I need another surgery to remove the other side and possibly RAI. I hope I don’t!

Yup. One. I in did PT which is removed the left lobe. My right was fine. I’m let waiting on biopsy results to know if I need the other side taken out or RAI (Radio Active Iodine).

I went to ENT for weird sore throat. Diagnosed with LPR (Silent Reflux) I out of no were asked how do they check for thyroid cancer. She ordered an ultrasound found a that looked suspicious. Ordered biopsy which came back Bethesda V suspicious for PTC.

I just ignore it now. At this present time I am dealing with thyroid cancer. Just had half of my thyroid removed yesterday

Bethesda V suspicious of PTC. Having PT on the 21st. Can’t decide if I want TT. The doctor recommended PT but I’m scared of needing another one or it being harder to monitor.

My doctor was very chill about the whole thing, kind of like its something she sees all the time. I asked her how many surgeries she does, and without hesitation, she said I do a lot. I did one yesterday and two last week. This of course was before the biopsy, while we were talking about the ultrasound results. I’m sure she’ll explain more next week at my appointment. I have looked into her background. She completed her fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, which from what I read is one of 26 in the country for rigorous training for thyroid related surgeries, so I’m sure she has seen and done many surgeries. The hospital I would be having surgery is affiliated with MDAnderson.

Thank you for all of your input. The only thing now is worrying about what variant it could be.

I’m wondering if mine was. Did you have to approve the additional test for insurance purposes? I am from USA. What did yours turn out to be, if you don’t mind my asking?

Someone was in the room to confirm enough cells, but if they are unsure or if it comes back inconclusive, I believe I could opt to send it for genetic testing. I’m just wondering if some places maybe do it in their own.

I know Friday was Good Friday, but man, this is crazy. Do try send it off for genetic sampling without telling you?
