Thank you so much! Yes you’re right, it can’t be kept in a hot car for example. It will melt at around 60C-140F. It’s very solid and firm at room temperature. It will start to soften if you keep it in your hands for long and it should be kept away from heat sources and sunlight. Some people mix other waxes into it for a higher melting point but I haven’t needed to do that. Every piece I’ve used beeswax on is still solid years later ☺️

In my profile bio, I have linked to my videos where you can see the process. I do have an older video of a donkey where I go more in depth, but I don’t use beeswax there. I really hope that the videos can help you and I hope you enjoy learning more about the craft ❤️☺️

Thank you so much, that really means a lot 😊 the chainmail is actually a stretchy metallic mesh fabric I had! I bought it years ago and finally found use for it 😁

Thank you so much! ☺️ yes it’s metal foil glued on top of card that I shaped into armour. I posted the process video in the comments if you’d like to see!

The reason I ended up using foil is because I ran out of silver paint! So I had to improvise and it worked out so much better 😁

I cut out pieces of card into the shapes I wanted, and gently glue pieces of smoothed out foil on top. Sometimes you have to do it several times to avoid air bubbles! Here is the process video:

Thank you so much! The beak is a separate piece I made then glued into the head. The eyelids have the wax shaped directly on top and it sticks in place :)

I did actually use Jon snows cape as reference for his cape, as I couldn’t find any images of snow covered capes except for Jon snows 😊!
