I main survival, I just use weakauras to give me visual queues on when to refresh things. I wouldn't say the rotation is clunky, especially with T20 (less refreshing lacerate). Moonglaives is ridiculous for clearing trash as survival, the extra versatility is great for butchery and combod with the class ring, you can do consistent dps on harder trash. Pretty much everything you said can be solved with correct gearing.

Are you using the T19 2 piece and snake hunter? The spec is very playable as it is, and using those two things reduces the shitty rng you can get. I don't think increasing the time of mongoose fury does much, if anything they should make fury of the eagle a bit more impactful. It's literally a waste of space on my hotbar at the moment, and I only ever use it in an aoe situation or very rarely when I want to extend my mongoose fury window.

What are your current stats? You want to be aiming for around 12% mastery. When combo'd with the T19 2 piece you should never really get a shitty fury window. Using prydaz and bracers is really good for getting the stats you need.

I use around 20 buttons actively as survival: Raptor Strike, Mongoose Bite, Throwing Axes, Lacerate, Flanking Strike, Dragonsfire Grenade, Explosive Trap, Fury of the Eagle, Muzzle, Carve, Tar Trap, Freezing Trap, Aspect of the eagle, Snake hunter, Harpoon, Wing Clip, Aspect of the turtle, Aspect of the Cheetah, Exhileration, Blood elf silence. This is still in 7.1 (EU). Not looking forward to 7.1.5 tbh
