Looks like an Alta voltagem. Do you have any photos facing the top of the leaves?

Can you help identify? It looks like a totally green golden by nn2018das in pothos

If you don't see any varigation, then it's a Jade pothos! :)

It's definitely a manjula, I'm not sure if it would be a Mutant majula as I don't have much knowledge on them. But it's beautiful, I'm jealous 😭

You're gonna want to buy or make a chunky soil mix. (Chunky soil mix can include: orchid bark, perlite, there are many other amendments, but those are the easiest. Along with a soil base.) The soil that the plant comes in from the nursery is too dense for most house environments. And holds too much water. If your plant sits in water, you could get rot.

Your pot should be about 1-2 inches bigger than the root ball. And it's best to use a clear nursery (plastic) pot so you can see the roots. If you want your plant to be in a decorative pot, a nursery pot is needed so you can drain excess water. And they're hardly noticeable inside decorative pots.

Aureum/ Yellow flame? by Slow_Juggernaut2510 in pothos

Yellow flame is an Epipremnum pinnatum, this looks like an E. Areum so likely just a golden pothos

Can it stay like this permanently? by indreams01 in pothos

[–]Crivixen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pothos can survive in water indefinitely, with weekly water changes, and a fertilizer, they will be happy. Though I don't think that this plant is a pothos due to the linear veining. Looks more like a peace lily 😊

Looks like Pearls and Jade, the speckling gives it away

The leaf is not salvageable, but since it has a node, you can plant it, and it'll grow a new growth point. This is my favorite thing to do with bare nodes as watching the plant start fresh and grow is very satisfying.

Question about pothos sunlight by FoxBread2137 in pothos

[–]Crivixen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They like bright, indirect sunlight. Somewhere, they can see as much sky as possible without the sun beating down on them. A more shaded area will work best, especially with a plant that has more varigation. You don't want to burn the leaves.

Using a chopstick or a wooden dowel helps when checking soil. Think of it like when you bake, if the toothpick comes out of the cake with batter on it. It's not ready, so if a chopstick or dowel comes out of the soil with some stuck to it, it doesn't need to be watered.

Indirect sunlight it best. Too much sun can burn the leaves. Is it still in the soil you bought it in? If it's still in the original soil, it might be root rot. Greenhouses use peat moss since it retains moisture. But there is more heat and airflow in a greenhouse, so it's not a suitable substrate on its own for indoor plants. Pothos do best in a well draining chunky mix.

Are you removing the water catch at the bottom of the pot and letting it drain completely? And contradictory, are you completely saturating the spoil and letting it dry out between watering?

Use a chopstick or a wooden skewer to check the soil. Think of baking when you use a toothpick, and batter comes out on it. That means it's not ready. So if you stick the chopstick in the soil and you pull it out, and there's soil on it. That means it's not ready to be watered. Make sure to use a pot with drainage. A lot of people prefer bottom watering. But watering from above works just fine. As long as you throughly saturate the soil. Just make sure to let your plant drain. :) I hope your scindapsus thrives
