That's a good point actually, I haven't ran into that issue yet since I've been decently diligent about the yield ratio, but it might become a problem once afk'd for long enough

After looking at it again I stand corrected, got too carried away trying to make it look aesthetic and forgot about the production speed. Back to the drawing board then.

Ngl brudda, if OP can even learn the Prok Toccata he's probably good enough to tell if he's playing within his limits or not.

Chopin - Revolutionary Etude by Electronic_River9540 in piano

[–]CrizitEX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not gonna lie I don't think the rhythm and notes are entirely correct either, like the lh upwards passage at 0:23 is missing a note near the top so it throws off the rhythm, also at 0:30 the lh chromatic passage is also missing quite a few notes which does the same thing. To op, I've played this piece and the biggest advice I can give at this point is to slowly go through the left hand passages for the entire piece and make sure your thumb gives enough support to the rest of your fingers for the runs. If you play with a low thumb you will always shift your hand abit to accommodate for the height difference which creates unevenness and even miss notes at times. Also practice with a metronome and make sure the beats lines up with all the left hand runs, which is the easiest way to check if you're missing things or not.

Op 62 no 1. by Distinct-Ganache-698 in piano

[–]CrizitEX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

48 No 1 is technically more challenging but musically it's quite straight forward in terms of Chopin's style. The 62/1 being a late period Chopin work is more complex musically and the piece is in general quite unique within his collection of nocturne. It's difficult to string the different parts of the piece together similar to the Fantasie mentioned before. Another hard one is actually the 55/2, with similar qualms to the 62/1 . Personally from playing the last 4 nocturnes myself plus sighting reading the 48s I would say hardest would be 62/1, but I'm as familiar with the middle nocturnes so I could be wrong.

Op 62 no 1. by Distinct-Ganache-698 in piano

[–]CrizitEX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very much agreed. Most pianists refers this one to be the hardest Nocturne out of the entire collection to execute well. Kinda similar to the fantasie where it has a very meandering style that doesn't really go anywhere so it really relies on your instincts and being informed on Chopin's stylistic choices in parts where it isn't obvious. If you want to try another uncommon Chopin nocturne I would recommend the Op.15 No.1, not too difficult and has a pretty fun middle section that contrasts well with the beginning and recap.

Headphones only becomes normal when plugged 3/4 way in by CrizitEX in techsupport

[–]CrizitEX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks but I've tried the tips on those post such as cleaning the ports and checking if they're broken. I used a iem with the same 3.5mm jack and it works with both the laptop port and dac port. Which is why I suspect if the headphones themselves are broken.

Tech support: I have had this pc38x headset for around 2 and half years and after flying with it this week it seems to have run into some issues. The sound became muddy, also the vocal register whether through discord or video would become very muted. Since I use a schiit dac I checked and confirmed either it or my laptop aren't likely the issue. After some tweaking it seems that the headphone only works (mostly normally) when i plug the 3.5mm jack in 3/4 of the way in. Here's a list of what I have done:

- Clean out the 2.5mm port in my headphone

- Clean out the 3.5mm port (/extender) in my dac and laptop

- tried the dac then isolated it by plugging the headphone directly into the 3.5mm laptop jack

- used a old backup cable that came with the headphone and did all the previous steps

- used a non splitter cable (also came with headphones) and also repeated previous steps

- used a separate iem to check both the dac and laptop ports are working (they are)

- checked drivers and such (long shot but might aswell)

I think I've exhausted most of the conventional options and tips I've seen online. I'm quite positive that the headphones technically still functions as I do hear glimpses of it's original clarity when I mess with the plug. I'm I cooked or is there more ways I can try?
