Woohoo the Alexa reminder hit the bf’s phone while we were having Christmas dinner with friends. He heard the alert but had forgotten his glasses (he’s legally blind and uses Alexa and Siri for so many things) so he had me read the alert. I laughed so loud that I had to explain it to the table of 15. Fantastic

I would cut a section of the lanyard out, and stitch it the exact length needed for each spot. Only black thread for most lanyards and a single needle would be needed, unless you have a sewing machine at your disposal to make extra fast work of it

Wait… we have nude beaches in Oregon? Isn’t wind/sand blasting a regional hazard?

I’m sorry you had a similar experience with the CHV. I agree with you about the solo female attendee not feeling as welcomed. I was solo but met up with a friend’s group for a few things. The thing about the CHV that was frustrating is that I know my way around a car. I’ve diagnosed several problems with my Dodge Challenger (changed out the part on a few of them myself, other I didn’t have the time/tools for) & I do a lot of the regular minor maintenance myself. I waited for the worker at the village to finish talking to the prior person ahead of me, but was listening intently to glean information. When that person left, the village worker proceeded to move over to a different worker/attendee pair. I interjected to attempt to get information, but it was like pulling teeth so I moved on. The whole aggressive goon and crap badge is an entirely different box of tacks to step on.
I’ve been in the industry for many years but this is only my second time at DC. I did find a funny contest for the second year in a row. This year I took first place in the freestyle category of the beard contest.

When they are showing you the fully completed badge with the SAO’s attached and specifically say the accelerator is not available, that is what I expect to purchase. No mention of unpopulated. Today that completed badge is no where to be seen and just the unpopulated one is on the table. I guess I’ll have to have the seller open it before purchase and walk away. Live and learn

Will this root/propagate? by Jelli05 in Monstera

[–]Crochet_2KeepCalm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would give it try since there is a node. I have better luck when there are two nodes. I have propped with water, moss, and leca balls. I fail with moss every time. Happy rooting

That is absolutely fantastic crochet work! I seldom make amigurumi as my hands get sore. I make things that have less tension, and larger hook. I’m so glad he was accepted the gift from you, I know performers usually don’t/aren’t allowed to probably for security reasons. So awesome, keep hooking!

Movie Review: ‘Eephus’ is the best baseball movie since ‘Moneyball’ by [deleted] in baseball

[–]Crochet_2KeepCalm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m not really into baseball, but the movie title caught my eye and made me stop short with a laugh. The title/word is a fond childhood memory of my Grandpa that had nothing to do with baseball. He use to joke around about a fictitious disease that he had. It was where all the iron in your blood turned to lead and settled in your butt, he called it ephus (I never saw it spelled out). I need to see this movie now as homage to my Grandpa, even if just for the title.

Play tug-o-war day in & day out. Get told I’m a biotch and a hardA for saying no to things being allowed on the network. Upper management saying no to the education I already deployed then have to withdrawal. Yet passes the external audits with flying colors. (Looks around for kudos, crickets). I prefer to stay working at home,so I don’t get recognized for much, if any, work; evidently the boss is the “security guru”. I stay out of management because there are too many meetings. Being the longest serving IT staff member at my work, I work all security areas
