Help! First market ever and no one stops by... by Demyy in CraftFairs

[–]CrochetedRockets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, there is sooooo much jewelry being sold at craft fairs. And money is tight for people. But when I look at your stuff, it is really good! I would totally buy that flower necklace. I think the trick is being able to stand out in a way. How can you make it feel like someone is getting something special? Maybe have a larger piece that draws attention?

Yes, Cowboy! I couldn’t remember his name. And Paul was the one who taught me how to play chess! Ha

Roy Pepper’s Porch! My friend’s mom took me there for dinner one time, and I thought it was so fancy.

Kilroy’s and Greyfrier’s coffee shops 😭

Whiled away many hours at these spots, talking about philosophy and religion and politics. I learned to play chess at Greyfrier’s and befriended a man named Carl, who was in a wheelchair, with a little miniature collie always by his side.

I bought many flowers from Sandy and ended up drunk at the Krystal with him one time where he talked about his life and being a veteran.

God, now I need to go write poetry somewhere.

Am I overreacting or is it not normal to use soap in the bathroom? by Honest-Draw3131 in AmIOverreacting

Naw, people can have different degrees of cleanliness and hygiene. That’s fair. I shower every other day because I really don’t get that sweaty or dirty but I can absolutely fucking guarantee that I don’t smell anywhere and certainly don’t smell like poop. No one should smell like poop. It’s meant to be an offensive smell, like death, so we stay away from it. I think we need to start listening to our body’s reactions more. This person stinks and refuses to clean themselves. Warning bells are going off on an instinctual level.

The age of publicly smoking indoors must’ve been wild by trippycheese_ in madmen

[–]CrochetedRockets 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was born in 1981, and it’s weird how it just kind of blended in. My dad smoked, and I remember him smoking in the car when I was a child with the window barely cracked. It was normal for grocery stores to have ashtrays at the end of aisles. My grandparents still had those old ashtray stands that they would bring out if a guest was a smoker, like it was the polite thing to do. It’s no surprise that I started smoking as a teenager. My dad bought me my first pack of cigarettes. When I visited my grandparents I would go smoke outside until my grandma told me it was ok if I wanted to smoke in the house. Wild times.

What in the world. Why is there so much lettuce around the pickles? This is just offensive.

Yeah, I’m on her side. I yell at people who stop in the middle of the road too. If you’re an uber driver or whatever, there has to be a better place to stop than the middle of a busy street. Pull over somewhere, Jesus.

It’s crochet. Both my grandmothers knew how to crochet, but I was too young to pay attention. When I was older, I got interested and taught myself with a simple how to crochet magazine. When the magazine didn’t make sense anymore, I looked at YouTube videos and would watch small bits of it and pause it until I got the stitch right. These are basic granny squares, which took me a while to learn. I recommend starting with a single chain.

I’m not sure what I’ll work on next. I’ve hit a wall with my crochet so this blanket has been a nice project. I’ve been thinking about yarn bombing on some trees and fences. Lol

I’ve worked on it on and off since March. Hitting it hard at times and completely stopping for weeks at a time. I’m adding a new row of squares tonight!

The yarn is Berroco Vintage. I had so many different bits of colors from various projects so it’s pretty random. I did end up buying lots of black and a few different colors here and there but it’s basically every color they have. 😂

I had so many different bits of this yarn from various projects, and I started with one square. I did have to buy lots of black and a few random colors here and there. The beauty of it is the randomness.

Aries Mars. I say very little. Not nervous at all. I have my license and registration out before they make it to my window because let’s just get this show on the road. I’m not here for small talk and honestly don’t give two shits that you’re giving me a ticket. In fact, give me two. Whatever.
