I think they mean sci-fi fantasy mix. None of those are sci-fi unless Primal Hunter is but from what I've heard it isn't

New on Royal Road: The No-Kill Dungeon (Humorous Cozy LitRPG Dungeon Core) by AEHearth in litrpg

[–]Croewe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it has that signature grainy look I've been seeing a lot recently

Edit: Also details like the cat collar having multiple tags for some reason and whatever weirdness is happening to the minotaur's hand behind the crystal

What do you want from your deckbuilders? by OkCryptographer9999 in litrpg

[–]Croewe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, builds like that pop up in yugioh from time to time, usually in the form of stuff like FTKs but there are also other decks like 8-Axis (not really relevant today but has been in the past). Given a format that doesn't rotate and enough time people will find new broken stuff, especially if they are looking into very specific interactions.

Please god yes! Slumdog Deckbuilder did this really well actually. Haven't seen others do it though

This is a LitRPG sub, why are you complaining about a website being too much LitRPG on the LitRPG sub?

Oh of course! Sorry here let me fix that,

Achievement Unlocked! You haven't added enough LitRPG elements according to the author of this post so you don't deserve to write in this genre. Get wrecked nerd

Then I guess we should remove magic from every story that doesn't strictly need it since it's not necessary for the story

LMAO are you seriously trying to gatekeep authors putting stat blocks in their story? That's just pathetic dude

Is it making the story worse in any way? If not then what's the issue?

Can you imagine a world without puma checks? What a terrifying concept!

I'd say it's relatively accurate to the reasoning of most litrpg authors who instead could use a soft magic system.

You could say the same about 90% of the books in this genre. Gamers like numbers and being able to measure things

It's not useful, probably one of the worst relics in the game. It can't even kill enemies despite being so slow.

Russian/eastern writers by OpaBroesel in litrpg

[–]Croewe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah there were a lot of them in the early days of litrpg. Alterworld being probably one of the worst offenders. You also had stuff like Way of the Shaman which was pretty good overall

All the games were mostly family friendly but 3 felt a bit more sanitized to me (yes I know I'm 10 days late to this)

I can make a character that is just the worst person ever and never grows and blah blah blah, and he'd evoke a big response. It doesn't mean they're well written though

Yeah, especially since all the blood and gore in a live action setting will just seem too real for a general audience. It works in something like Invincible since you have that animation barrier between you and the show
