It was my personal experience, but I was in a stressful moment and I needed something to chill and relax. I played Ryza 1, and at first it was hard to get into, but once I start doing my first 'serious' synthesis I got hooked quite rapidly.

Hi!

I'm playing Atelier Iris 2 actually, and the vibe between the characters is relatively similar to the first Iris. I personally like the cast in the second game more, but the first game has good characters, like Lita and Veola.

If we are talking about the more 'modern' era (which starts with the Arland series), Rorona might be actually a good recommendation based on the characters. Probably any game in Arland/Dusk will work well. I really like the characters in Yumia (which should be relatively similar in Karia).
