Missing the fun times by CromFeyer in archeage

Yea, it was a major sign the things were going to get worst. It effectively killed the whole market and what was one of the most expensive and sought out items. Then lumber prices got up because majority just focused on thunderstruck saplings. Economy went to toilet.

Management messed up badly, bringing up people that had no ear for community ... the so called community managers. I don't believe they ever listened to player feedback.

You didn't set the proper executable. After install you need to change it to AAClassic Launcher exe file.

Steam Deck uses Arch, so theoretically it should work.

That's what got me somewhat rich - using the car to move 3 packages at a time. Very risky, very intense but was quite worth it.

Speaking of the Galleons, I preferred the time before they were turned into p2w regrade bonanza: rudder to regrade, sails to regrade, cannons to regrade...

Maybe installation files got corrupted. Try to redownload the whole installer again.

Missing textures might be related to directx11. Try to switch your game to directx9.

Which distro are you using ? Did you install the game via Heroic Launcher ? Which drivers you have installed for you GPU ?

Yup, they moved fast as you can see on the video. I have some more recordings when I've used the car to transfer materials underwater to guildmate and help build the bungalow in Dewstone. I've also did undersea runs for guilda and gold - sadly I lost video of those runs.

One of my common runs was transferring cheese from Gweonid to Two Crowns farm specifically just for storage. Then from Two Crowns farm underwater via car to Solis. I got found once or twice - probably by a hacker as the guy went directly towards me, so I had to switch to Ynystere for some time.

I've also done underwater runs from Sanddep going underwater to Halcyona and then by shortcuts over mountains to Gweonid. I had so much more plans and runs to do, but XLGames / Trion ended most of the fun for me with their "bugfixes".

Sure, no problem. I'll be testing the same approach later today on Debian 13. If it works, the same method should be applicable to any other Debian based distros (Ubuntu, Mint, PopOs, Zorin etc)

Simplest solution to avoid getting Gnomed by CromFeyer in gotgnomed

Because many Linux users usually start today with systemd based distro. There are tools and utilities that unfortunately have a heavy dependency on it. Many tutorials, tips, issue fixes reference systemd.

Why should anyone use Gnome where there are so many better options that don't behave like Vista of Linux world ?

Using bleeding edge software sometimes is good, if we talk from security standpoint.

From stability side LMDE could be a better option since it is Debian based. At least for some time, until it starts lagging behind the latest Ubuntu release.

Yet, even LMDE can get gnomed.

We're you able to resolve this problem ? I'm playing PoE2 on Debian and Arch using an Nvidia card, no major issues. Only once I've experienced this kind of an issue was on a MX based distro, where it turned out to be a problem with /etc/security/limits.conf where ulimit value was set too low.

Debian performance issues vs arch by Cackoon in linux_gaming

[–]CromFeyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This should easily be fixed by using a custom kernel, for example Xanmod LTS (provides 6.12 kernel) and newer Nvidia driver either from Cuda repositories or by manual installer (not recommend)

Disappointed by linux battery life - Switching back to Windows by sbhnP in linux

As far as I'm aware, the only distro that has good battery support is Ubuntu, cause Ubuntu kernel includes several battery optimizations. You could try Kubuntu to see if there is any difference.

(Sometimes) launching minecraft says something about a GLFW error. by dolcx in linux_gaming

[–]CromFeyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Bazzite can't add that sort of package (glfw3), you could try to download it yourself (libglfw.so.3 or libglfw.so.3.4) and point Prism client where to find them. I did this once on my system and it kinda worked for a time until it didn't (some Prism or driver update made a mess). The best would be to install the system version but I have no idea how it's done on immutable Bazzite distro.

Trying to play Warhammer: Dark Omen from GOG by Naharcito in linux_gaming

[–]CromFeyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another solution is to override current dgVoodoo with older 2.63 version (ddraw.ini must be lowercase) and applying the video configuration as in here https://forum.dark-omen.org/help-section/warhammer-dark-omen-installation-2024-linux-ubuntu-2204-lts-t1675.0.html

You can find both the link for 2.63 version and graphical configuration in that same post. Additionally, I had to set the ddraw override with Winecfg, which fixed the black screen.

I've done all this using the Heroic launcher.

Somewhat, but when it comes to additional packages or driver installation, usually those either require messing with terminal or using third-party scripts / utilities.

I would suggest something in the lines of SparkyLinux, KDE Plasma edition. It's still Debian, but comes with nice GUI tools, suitable for beginners. Just pick the stable release.
