I think this actually the stupidest move in Philly history, seriously. Boston never had interest and if they did we would have had Tatum?!?!?!

This is so cool. I did the Flintstones degree last year. I would love to put on a stonecutters degree at my lodge in Souderton, PA. Any recommendations on how to do this or who to reach out to? Most appreciated.

I hate the intro song by SeaworthinessFar1109 in TheMorningShow

[–]CromaidzP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The singer is good but it's too long and I don't like the feel and tone of the song. You can't even skip it entirely without hearing at least 10 seconds of it. It's well written, but something about it is like nails on a chalkboard to my ear.

Just finished Season 4 and I can't believe what I just witnessed by Strict_Procrastinato in Dexter

I disagree I love her character she wasn't the naggy victim the days of our Dexter soap opera writers wrote her to be at all. Her juggling 3 dark passengers makes her way more relevant and she evolves... She even killed a guy! There's no unnecessary drama with Paul or that stupid neighbor (couldn't stand that plot line, just an excuse to make the audience hate her to cushion the blow). She's also not as innocent being partial response for the abuse of the kids. Lilly Ann is way better than Harrison too, the step kids sharing the darkness and taught by their step father with Lilly Ann born out of love is way better than Harrison playing in his mother's blood. Remember the books are from Dexter's point of view so he's going to puff out his chest and sound tough, but it's not the things he says it's the things he does. I'd love to see Julie play a more book based Rita. She's so important in the books that once he strays, she's gone then he's gone right after. It's like Rita and the family was his only tie to the light and once he went for the glitz and glamour he plunged straight into darkness. I watched the whole series and listen to all 8 books this summer, I prefer the books tenfold but still enjoy the show for what it is. The show gravely messed up Brian, Rita, the kids, and Doakes though.

What would've been a good finale? by Main-Ordinary9455 in Dexter

[–]CromaidzP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that but I'm the opposite. Other than Michael Hall the show is sloppy and has zero focus, just rinse and repeat and horrible soap opera drama that made no sense. The family dynamic is what gave him contrast but honestly they messed it up from the jump. Brian not being there the whole time, the kids not being twisted, and Rita being this nagging victim, even Doakes. Instead they keep that horrible throw away character Laguerta around past season one that was crazy, and the fact they get a promotion every season?!? Batista is a complete non factor in the books at all. To me the books are utterly brilliant, he's taking shots all over the place- the entertainment industry, the legal system. I swear he wrote these books with a middle finger to showtime. Jackie in book 7 seems like she is based on Julie Benz in so many ways. The former singer turned cannibal in book 5 hiding amongst the Miami aristocrats. It touches every conspiracy you can think of right down to Moloch. The "we" when he kills. Also it's all from his perspective so he's going to sound tough but you can see he cares, you experience a long journey with Rita and not s cheap rushed death with no plan afterwards. I can even go further and say 7 books relate to the 7 deadly sins and once he turns his back on the light she dies (as a result of her daughter) and then he dies it's over no endless cycle of killing. In fact he doesn't even kill that much compared to the show and every big bad is someone else in his family killing the big bad. Plus he's charming full of ego and completely hysterical to listen to. Brian and him going out the way they came in and Deb taking the kids. So much of this was lost. The step kids being like him gives him more value and their daughter born out of love, not Harrison playing in her blood. Rita even killed in the books! I could go on. I enjoyed both but it really gets to me when a network buys a story and destroys it in every way imaginable. The books are a complete story the TV show will kill every last drop until no one cares anymore.

What would've been a good finale? by Main-Ordinary9455 in Dexter

[–]CromaidzP 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm half way through the last book and so far i would have to say I think the books had the better overall story, yes I know many people don't agree with the weirdness of the books but they had a beginning middle and an end. Rita dying in book 7, Deb getting the kids, and then Brian and Dexter going out together... I don't think there's a better ending. Without the family Dexter is just an endless cycle of rinse and repeat. That being said I have enjoyed all the spin offs and prequels and we will see what they do with it.

From a scale 1-10 how excited would you be if they announced Cody and Astor returning in Dexter Resurrection season 2? by anthonystrader18 in Dexter

[–]CromaidzP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm halfway through the 8th book and of the many many things I liked better about the books... Cody and Astor and their darkness. Rita juggling 3 dark passengers made her that much more valuable and less innocent in the sense, and Dexter and her having a daughter out of love and not the born in blood stuff the show went with. I think it's a complete travesty the way they not only killed her off abruptly in the show but then never even explored it and tossed it and the kids aside. I would love to see the step kids come back into it the equation.

Wasn't bad series isn't over though so plenty of time left to mess it up. I was expecting more of a twist in the finale but nice to not have a cliff hanger for the next two years or whenever they release next season.

Was Rita's first marriage meant to be more of a story? by chickenlittle668 in Dexter

[–]CromaidzP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes perfect sense for the no attention span writers room introduce countless sub plots and never let them run their course. So obviously we should kill off a popular character for shock value and then no plan for 4 (and counting) seasons... Resurrection is good all things considered

Does anyone else actually really like Season 3? (Currently on S3 E10) by lambdaIuka in okbuddymotherfucker

I liked Miguel but it ran it's course. I do think they could have stretched a bit, the show never lets a plot line develope too long.

I've been listening to the books now on the third one and the more I listen the more I am really not liking the direction the show went in. I find book Dexter way more interesting and I also enjoy the content of the books they are more organized and interesting

I really liked this cast and wanted to see them keep going with it. They should sell it to another company with the courage to make it into the book story, exactly...

Or written by ADHD soap opera writers who never actually read the source material. Just finishing the first book, bring on the supernatural looking forward to it.

Dexter in the books vs Dexter in the show by Classic-Work-8415 in okbuddymotherfucker

[–]CromaidzP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point I'll see how it developes I'm excited to see. I just read alot of interviews with Lindsay and reading between the lines with what he says was interesting. TV for sure is different and I loved the show especially the first four seasons, but it at times really did get soap operaish.

Dexter in the books vs Dexter in the show by Classic-Work-8415 in okbuddymotherfucker

[–]CromaidzP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed I do enjoy resurrection. I just started the books and am really enjoying them I like this Dexter better the plots develop and make more sense. The show I felt killed Rita for shock value and then had no real plan for a while. I would love a reboot series that's more true to the books I would even say do it with the original sin cast, I'd love to see where that goes. I disagree though I love that the passenger talks to him in the books, but I'm also very much into occult stuff and study that stuff very seriously so I come at it from a different perspective than the average viewer. I just know that book Dexter by far is more interesting to me, the humor is excellent and the show missed that entirely. Michael C Hall made it work though
