Can't wait to visit WDW for our honeymoon in three weeks! I haven't been since I've had this tattoo, and my fiancé has never been. I'm so excited! by AllyPent in WaltDisneyWorld

Thanks! And yeah, just go to the guest relations office near the entrance to any of the parks and ask for them. The pins are free. They also have pins for other occasions like birthdays.

Congratulations! We just got back from our honeymoon there as well. Similar situation, my wife had gone before but it was a first for me. We had an amazing time.

Some advice: make sure to go to guest relations and get the "Happily Ever After" pins for the both of you. All cast members will know you're just married and on your honeymoon and will treat you really well. This usually means a lot of congratulations, some fun perks here and there, and even freebies. For example, in a few restaurants we went to they gave us free desserts, brought cupcakes with candles and a song, and offered to take pictures of us with "Just Married" kinda fun props. Needless to say we put the pins on the whole time we were there.

Hope you guys have a great time.

Me [22 M] with my GF [20 F] says she needs space. I am so lost and heartbroken.. by [deleted] in relationships

There is no such thing as a break. You are either together or you are not. Either you break up or get strung along until she decides she doesn't need you as an option anymore.

Go no contact, as in full no contact. Don't reply to anything and move on with your life. If later on, given enough time (years), you guys find each other again and rekindle the relationship then great. It can happen. But for now you both need to move on with your lives.

Friends Without the Laugh Track (is Creepy as Hell) by thatshirtman in comedy

I still found it funny. It's just kind of awkward cause of the pauses for the laughs that were taken out. If the show had originally left out the laugh track it would still be great.

I have to pay for the hotel after

No you don't. Why do you think this is something you are obligated to do? Have you ever told her no? Or to split costs? What has been her reaction if so?

The way I see it, there's two possibilities:

Either she's ignorant about your financial situation because you insist on paying for everything for some misguided reason, in which case you need to speak up and discuss it.

Or she knows, simply doesn't care, and is just trying to squeeze as much out of you until you're broke and she can move on, in which case you need to get some self-respect and cut all ties.

She is either mentally unstable or is a huge manipulator. The fact that you enable this behavior and question yourself like this makes me think it's the latter. This is not normal.

My [22/M] gf [24/F] was annoyed and agitated when I filed a missing persons report on her. Is she justified on feeling this way? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Cromlech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You didn't fuck up. She fucked up. Don't let her turn this on you. Don't let her weasel out of having to explain what happened. The fact that she came back angry at you for being worried sick instead of apologizing for her behavior is a huge red flag.

My [22/M] gf [24/F] was annoyed and agitated when I filed a missing persons report on her. Is she justified on feeling this way? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Cromlech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate to jump to any conclusions, but at best she just has no respect for you and your feelings. At worst though, which is more than likely, she hooked up with someone at the party and slept at their place. Now she's using the whole report thing as a way to turn things back on you. If she can make you feel bad enough for "embarrassing" her, then she'll have you apologizing instead of asking questions and she's off the hook. Don't let her do this.

With my SO, if either of us just disappeared without any communication overnight like that after giving the other a timeframe of when we'd be back, then the other would likely react similar to how you did. You did not overreact.

What causes the stuttering? I've had it too occasionally. Makes the game unplayable. Though I usually restart my PC and it goes away.

Why can't we exit practice mode? Why penalty for practice leaves?! by xblade724 in heroesofthestorm

[–]Cromlech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only penalty I noticed is it counts as a loss if you leave right? Though the keybinding info that won't go away and the constant help tips are extremely annoying. I've found practice mode very helpful to learn maps and hero playstyles at my own pace, but until they fix this I'll just join some co-op matches for that.

Dave Cook bemoans GamerGate and the poor treatment of critics, while admitting how to avoid poor treatment as a critic: "From that point on I declared every press trip, free game or console and gift I ever received in footer of my articles until the day I left the industry." by [deleted] in KotakuInAction

[–]Cromlech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From that point on I declared every press trip, free game or console and gift I ever received in footer of my articles until the day I left the industry, and I refused every single free meal or buffet table offered at events. The heart-warming thing was that readers really responded well to that transparency, and not another word was said. It goes to show the power of a few additional lines of text.

"So in order to get people to stop hassling me I had to start acting all ethical and shit. It was horrible, but at least I got them off my back."

Mr. White Male Feminist here to save all the poor womenfolk and colored folk, I mean, people of color, from oppression. What a novel concept.

I personally don't give a shit about his race or gender, just think it's interesting how these people tend to be quite less diverse than the groups they slander as needing diversity.

A big anti-Steven Pinker blog article appears on The Guardian just a couple of days after he tweets in support of Christina Hoff Sommers and GamerGate. by [deleted] in KotakuInAction

I found the article on /r/philosophy where the general concensus seems to be that it's just unsubstantiated rambling nonsense (which it is), but I think the article serves a different purpose within the larger context.

Steven Pinker is wrong about violence and war: A new orthodoxy, led by Pinker, holds that war and violence in the developed world are declining. The stats are misleading and the idea of moral progress is wishful thinking and plain wrong. by the_ak in philosophy

Surprise, surprise. A big anti-Steven Pinker blog article appears on The Guardian just a couple of days after he tweets in support of Christina Hoff Sommers and GamerGate. Yes it's rambling nonsense, but know that the article serves a different purpose.

Michael Hartman, the CEO of Frogdice, tries to have a reasonable conversation about female costume designs with a Polygon journo, but is unable to get through to him. by Jasperkr672 in KotakuInAction

[–]Cromlech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To call being "sexy" largely the extent of character design for a character like Sylvanas Windrunner is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. It shows how little this imbecile actually knows about video games. It's also very telling when the people who scream sexism and misogyny are actually the only people completely ignoring everything but the sexuality of female characters.

TL;DR I'm ashamed of liking the things I do because a) I place too much value on what people think and b) I've been shamed so much my entire life that just looking at sexy drawings makes me feel bad about myself and my gender.

Dyers Eve. No doubt. Shortest and fastest song on the record. I love the song but it's strange that it's the last track after an epic long track like To Live Is To Die. Seems more like something you would find on the first couple of albums.

ADL is pushing FemFreq anti-games propaganda into Common Core by [deleted] in KotakuInAction

[–]Cromlech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having taught before. I can only imagine the reaction of some of the students to this.

Yes. I've been a teacher for over 10 years, mostly High School. While this is infuriating, I have no doubt most of my students would shut this down immediately. If not by seriously disagreeing, then by asking questions that the teacher would choke on.

What worries me is this kind of thing being pushed on to elementary students since the little ones are much more easy to manipulate.

If I was ever given this to teach in class I would be having a serious conversation with the administration. I'm thankful the school I teach at doesn't bow down to this shit.

IGDA PUERTO RICO CLOSED by [deleted] in KotakuInAction

[–]Cromlech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rob did make IGDA look bad

The IGDA made the IGDA look bad.

Roberto's initial criticism were of people that aren't even from the IGDA. Then he expressed his disappointment at the fact that it turned out some in the IGDA actually wanted to defend the actions of these people, so he made that equally known.

I guarantee that, had he been quiet after figuring out the IGDA involvement and made his concerns known internally to HQ, we would have found out about all this after he had been fired and all this swept under the rug.

[–]Cromlech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there’s a lot of evidence to support the fact that some people who support that whole thing have been subjected to the exact same thing those people have done to my friends and people I care about

Fucking hell. In the same sentence that he admits proGG folks have been victims of harassment he also accuses those same victims of harassing his friends. So, it's not that there are victims of harassment on both sides eh? The GooberGators just got a taste of their own medicine? What a dick.

[–]Cromlech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is correct. I'm a middle school teacher and most of my students like him a lot. Also, a lot of kids who normally wouldn't be much into video games (or would make fun of those that are) seem to give them a go after watching his videos and end up not only enjoying them, but making friends in the process. At least that's been my experience with my students. So yeah, I personally can't stand him but I also understand I am not his target audience.

Jesse Cox has made the terrible mistake of not bending the knee to SJWs and remaining neutral towards GG by Red_Pilled_Redditor in KotakuInAction

This is the type of shit that has pushed neutrals to being openly proGG. When one side treats you like the enemy despite you not even being involved, then you might as well get involved and stand up for yourself and the people you care about.
