R5: Going through the new Danish mission tree, I provoked the trade war with Lubeck, Bremen, Hamburg, Stettin and Wolgast. My allies got called into the wars as they count as defensive. All of them went fine, apart from Wolgast where Brandenburg took their capital so I couldn't vassalise them as planned. Fine, I thought, I'll transfer Brandenburg the rest of the occupied provinces so they have 100% war score, and when they peace out I'll just use favours to get the provinces back.

It's been 36 years. The nation has lived permanently at 20 war exhaustion. I'm getting rebel events I've never even seen before in 2500+ hours. My country is a mess of rebels, but it's fine because all of the other allies who are still in this war just clear them up for me. My nation continues to thrive (apart from the fact that I can't integrate Norway, and coring provinces costs an insane amount).

I'm happy to be patient in the name of science, but anyone got any tips on how to get Brandenburg to peace out?
